Sarah Michelle Gellar in talks for Buffy the Vampire sequel
Sarah Michelle Gellar is reportedly in final talks for a Buffy the Vampire sequel series.
As reported by Variety, it appears that a sequel series for the cherished TV show is moving closer to securing a pilot order on Hulu. Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar is currently in advanced negotiations to portray the main character in the presently unnamed production.
According to reports, the upcoming sequel series will be penned by Nora Zuckerman and Lilla Zuckmann, with Sarah Michelle Gellar reprising her iconic role as the Slayer in a recurring capacity instead of serving as the main character.
Chloé Zhao, known for her work, has been appointed as the one guiding the latest version of ‘Buffy’. She’ll be overseeing the project under her own production company, Book of Shadows.
Additionally, Gellar will join the executive producer team, similar to Gail Berman, Fran Kuzui, Kaz Kuzui, and Dolly Parton, who held the same roles in the original production.
If you’re yearning for more “Buffy” action, here’s some good news! The series can be streamed by Disney+ subscribers, and it has also been made available for free on a new streaming platform in the United Kingdom.
ITV has revealed plans to bring all seven seasons of a show to their ITVX streaming platform, which is expected to happen during their winter schedule, somewhere from now until March.
Currently, Gellar has disclosed that she encountered a minor issue after posting a sneak peek from the forthcoming “I Know What You Did Last Summer” sequel.
Although Gellar herself won’t make an appearance in the film, since her character from the first movie passed away, she’s instead focusing on supporting her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., who is starring in the upcoming sequel.
Sharing an image of a chair labeled with a movie title on Instagram, Gellar mentioned that she received a reprimand.
In the interview on Live with Kelly and Mark, she mentioned, “One might assume that, given my position, I am well-versed in the rules regarding sets when they refer to ‘closed sets’.
She mentioned, “I discovered later that no photos had been shared from the set as they hadn’t made a public announcement about starting filming. Well, it turns out I spoke too soon!
