Sabrina Carpenter’s Grammys Reunion with Idol Miley Cyrus After 15 Years
Sabrina Carpenter had a full circle moment with Miley Cyrus, 32, at the 67th Grammy Awards.
At the awards event in Los Angeles, the pair of popular musicians were spotted chatting and even struck a pose for some shared photographs.
But that wasn’t the first time Sabrina and Miley met.
At age ten, the young woman who emulated Marilyn Monroe on the red carpet had participated in a competition hosted by Miley’s Hannah Montana-era website, Miley’s World.
25-year-old Sabrina was among the top four finalists in the “Are You a Superstar” competition, which showcased each participant’s unique talents.
She scored first-row tickets for Miley Cyrus’s Wonder Tour in Philadelphia, along with a chance to meet her backstage.
At that point, Sabrina was only ten and in the fifth grade. She’s spoken about it previously, expressing remorse over her decision to don a fedora on that occasion.
She was the youngest of the contestants that won and it made a big impression on her.
In awe-struck wonder, a young Carpenter confessed to The Morning Call newspaper, ‘I felt quite star-struck.’ It was an incredibly exciting encounter.
And Miley, as it turns out, was an inspiration for young Sabrina.
She informed me that I was performing exceptionally well in the competition,” Carpenter clarified. “If only I could repeat the experience, it would have been fantastic.
As Sabrina encountered Miley, she was in the process of working on the upcoming round of the competition. She filmed a video of herself performing a track from one of her favorite divas.
As she awaited the outcomes, she shared with the outlet, “I believe my chances are quite strong,” she expressed.
I’d love it if, perhaps sometime, my music could play at a young girl’s birthday celebration. It would be quite amazing to experience that.
She ultimately placed third overall in the contest which had 7,000 competitors.
On the red carpet, Sabrina made a stunning entrance, followed by an energetic performance that left everyone impressed. To top it all off, she walked away with two Grammy Awards at the end of the night.
Sabrina was awarded her first Grammys for the categories of Best Pop Solo Performance (for “Espresso”) and Best Pop Vocal Album (“Short n’ Sweet”).
The Please Please Please singer looked like a dream as she arrived on the Grammy red carpet.
She channeled Cinderella in a custom blue backless gown with feather detail by JW Anderson.
Sabrina adorned herself with a lengthy chain of 19-carat Chopard diamonds cascading over her bared back.
In simpler terms, the necklace featured a stunning, 18-karat white sautoir with a large, flawlessly cut diamond at its end. This diamond belongs to Chopard’s Garden of Kalahari Collection, and it’s estimated that this exquisite piece would cost around $1 million.
As an ardent admirer, let me share that Sabrina’s ensemble, masterfully designed by Jared Ellner, wasn’t just about the stunning necklace. She also donned exquisite pear-shaped diamond earrings and a breathtaking 10.10-carat oval brilliant diamond ring, both from the same jewelers.
When Sabrina received her Best Pop Vocal Album award, she was astonished to find herself beating out several of her beloved artists globally.
She was put forward for the same award as Ariana Grande’s “Eternal Sunshine”, Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department”, Chappell Roan’s “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess”, and Billie Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft”.
She said: ‘Hello. I’m still out of breath from the performance so I really was not expecting this.
Here are a few of the world’s most cherished musicians among those shown on the screen. Receiving my first Grammy award, I must admit, has me on the verge of tears. To make sure I don’t forget any names, I quickly jotted them down on this napkin.
She expressed her gratitude to the Recording Academy for inviting her and everyone present, adding that it was fortunate to gather and create something extraordinary and beautiful, honoring and celebrating music in the process.
I’d like to express my gratitude to my fans for allowing my music to reach the Recording Academy. A heartfelt thanks goes out to my mom for ferrying me to every singing lesson. Similarly, I want to thank my dad and my sisters. Lastly, I want to extend my appreciation to Ireland Records, my dedicated team.
‘What the hell. Thank you, this is so special to me and Short and Sweet means the world.
I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of the producers and writers involved in creating this album. You hold a special place in my heart, as I cherish you immensely, and I can’t even begin to describe the depth of my affection for both you and the album itself.
