The startup, known as Absurd Ventures, established by ex-co-founder of Rockstar Games Dan Houser, has unveiled its inaugural project – a “tale-centric action-humored escapade game” titled “Absurdaverse“.
Householder departed Rockstar in 2020 to establish his own production company, and his debut project will showcase a variety of characters, several of whom you’ll likely witness enduring hardships, perhaps in an unusual manner. The studio offered a sneak peek at some characters from the “Absurdaverse” in their announcement. “Get ready to encounter some fresh types of protagonists (and witness them face challenges),” the announcement suggested.
Additional details will be shared this year regarding our initial animation ventures and an innovative story-driven action-comedy game within the Absurdaverse, currently under production by Absurd Ventures. Meanwhile, we have two more projects brewing in our pipeline.
Both “Better Paradise” and “American Caper” are being referred to as “narrative universes,” with new installments for both expected later this year. “Better Paradise” is an audio-based story series, whereas “American Caper” is a comic book series that takes place in a fresh crime fiction universe. It appears that only the “Absurdaverse” is a video game.
