First look at Amanda Seyfried in new crime thriller series
Amanda Seyfried, who starred in “Mamma Mia!”, has been given a sneak peek of her appearance in the upcoming crime thriller series “Long Bright River”.
This version aims to convey the same information as the original while using simpler and more natural language. It also maintains the order of the original sentence, with Amanda Seyfried’s past role (in Mamma Mia!) being mentioned first before introducing her new one (in Long Bright River).
In addition to the freshly unveiled photos depicting Seyfried as Officer Mickey, it’s official that the series debuts in the U.S. on March 13, a Thursday, according to Deadline.
The upcoming suspense thriller series, like Liz Moore’s 2020 bestselling title, assigns Seyfried the role of executive producer as well.
The novel, titled “Long Bright River“, focuses on Seyfried’s character, Mickey, who is a police officer patrolling a Philadelphia neighborhood severely affected by the opioid epidemic. As a string of murders unfolds within this area, Mickey begins to suspect that her own past could be linked to these crimes.
As a devoted fan, I’ve just caught a sneak peek at the latest pictures showcasing Amy Seyfried in her police role! In these images, she dons her official uniform, executing various gritty duties that truly bring her character to life.
In an initial image, Mickey seems to be exploring beneath a white cloth in what appears to be a mortuary, where she’s gazing at a corpse.
Joining Seyfried in the cast are Ashleigh Cummings, Callum Vinson, Nicholas Pinnock, and John Doman. Additionally, Britne Oldford, Matthew Del Negro, Dash Mihok, Harriet Sansom Harris, Perry Mattfeld, and Patch Darragh are also part of the ensemble.
Nikki Toscano and Moore have been enlisted for scriptwriting and overseeing the production of the series, with Toscano taking charge as the show’s lead producer. Additionally, Toscano will be directing some episodes, while Hagar Ben-Asher assumes directorial and executive producer duties for the first and fifth installments.
Earlier, Moore and Toscano expressed their excitement stating that Amanda Seyfried will spearhead the series which explores the transformation of individuals labeled as victims into a powerful collective.
The TV series was significantly influenced by Moore’s personal background and her involvement in harm-reduction and community service groups in Philadelphia. This production seeks to depict, with empathy, the lives of individuals battling addiction and the loved ones who support them.
