On “Married At First Sight,” Jamie Marinos, one of the brides, has rapidly emerged as a hot topic among viewers.
In a candid interview with Daily Mail Australia, Jamie opens up about the nuptials, her powerful bond with husband Dave Thomas, and her spirited exchange with bridal party member Tim Gromie who stirred controversy.
In Melbourne lives Jamie, a 28-year-old marketing manager, who confessed her excitement upon initially meeting Dave, specifically finding his tattoos incredibly appealing, an aspect she finds highly attractive.
She exclaimed loudly as she walked down the aisle upon noticing his neck tattoo, admitting it was quite uncouth of her, yet her excitement couldn’t be contained!
Jamies bond with Dave was immediate, as she quickly began asking 37 questions once they found themselves alone together.
Initially, it was essential for me to understand the nature of the task at hand. However, what truly astounded me was the fact that Dave doesn’t attend raves. Being a party-loving individual, I found myself saying something along the lines of, “Well then, it seems like Dave will be staying in while Jamie hits the town.
Despite their differences, Jamie says their wedding day felt completely natural.
She disclosed that it was effortlessly enjoyable. He managed to make me at ease, comfortable, and above all, found me amusing. Those were the key elements for me.
However, emotions ran high when Dave spoke about his stepfather’s health.
She expressed, “That instance was truly heartwarming. Catching a glimpse of his delicate side made our bond stronger. I gently touched his thigh and embraced him – I wanted to convey that I was standing by his side.
Besides having some playful guidelines for relationships, Jamie was particularly fond of the ‘no compact cars’ rule, as humorously stated by her: ‘Given my husband can’t squeeze into a compact car, that box is ticked for us!’
When it comes to drama, Jamie is not one to back down.
At the dinner party, she didn’t back down when Tim Gromie acted controversially towards Katie, instead, she caused quite a stir with her strong stance.
Jamie expressed that he was certain about the situation with the man. He firmly believes in women’s intuition and is grateful for his persistence. To be honest, he would have even pushed harder in the same situation.
Jamie also faced personal challenges during the honeymoon.
‘It was Fear Factor for me. I’m not great with animals, so it was a lot’ she said.
Another potential obstacle? Dave’s dog.
She admitted to having a genuine fear of dogs, yet she emphasized that if someone meets numerous desirable qualities, it would be foolish to discard them based on just one aspect. She expressed her willingness to work on addressing this fear.
Jamie isn’t fazed by criticism and has a strong message for her detractors.
She playfully said, “I guess they could say that!” Then she clarified, “I’m not here to harm anyone. Let’s just spread love instead.
Despite some negative remarks, Jamie is embracing the positive feedback.
She shared that everyone can clearly see her true personality. And, yes, she acknowledges the size of her nose – after all, she checks in a mirror regularly. However, she deeply cherishes herself just as she is.
Jamie explained that she enrolled in the hit Channel Nine show because dating apps are too troublesome.”)
‘It’s as if they’ve compiled a collection of the most questionable individuals. I felt like saying, “Let someone else handle this,” and in this situation, that would mean trusting the professionals instead.’
As a dedicated follower, I too confronted my issues with fellow bride Lauren Hall, who labeled me ‘boganic.’ However, I remain unruffled by her comments and am focused on the joyous occasion that lies ahead.
To be honest, I find “boganic” quite amusing, so thank you for that, Lauren! As for me, I have a soft spot for long trash bag nails – the longer, the better.
With plenty of drama, romance, and strong friendships ahead, Jamie teases what’s to come.
She hinted, “I can’t reveal all the details, but rest assured, there will be numerous wonderful friendships formed and an abundance of enjoyable experiences ahead.
I immediately resonated with Katie, Ash, and Awhina. Their vibrant, genuine personalities felt familiar and easy to connect with right from the start.
Married At First Sight continues Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine.
