In the upcoming game, Overwatch 2, an assortment of weapon designs for players to collect is being expanded with a hint of a brand-new weapon variant revealed by the game director in his recent post. The themes range from the mythical, radiant, and death-inspired, such as Mythic, Hard Light, Los Muertos, Gold, and Jade.

As stated by Aaron Keller, game director of Overwatch 2, players can expect a brand new weapon version coming out this year, which Keller described as “from another planet.” This has sparked speculation among the Overwatch 2 community that it might be associated with outer space.

In a different realm of imagination, a Redditor proposed cosmic-inspired weapon skins, while user OWCavalry on X speculated about a galaxy-themed weapon modification. To illustrate their idea, they shared an image of the Reaper’s Nebula skin.

Keller mentioned that some of you have been anticipating a weapon skin with a luxurious design, and he hinted at something truly exceptional for the year 2025. So, even though Jade [weapon variants] are temporarily out of the picture, there’s an extraordinary new variant of the weapon coming in 2025 that will leave you amazed! It’s going to be out of this world!

Jade weapons to leave Overwatch 2

In his latest post, the director recognized and appreciated the player input regarding the removal of Jade weapons from the game at the conclusion of the ongoing competitive season. Keller clarified that these types of weapons serve as a symbol of a player’s annual participation in ranked matches.

Restricting the availability of these weapons adds an element of exclusivity to them, so for the moment, Jade weapons will be temporarily unavailable.
