Nicole Kidman’s Surprising Elton John Keepsake Revealed on Late Show!

Nicole Kidman shared that she possesses a touching keepsake connected to Elton John, having sung Your Song with her spouse, Keith Urban, six years prior.

57-year-old Oscar laureate is in possession of the authentic manuscript containing the words to the legendary 1970 song, penned by Bernie Taupin, as revealed during a casual conversation on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday night.

It was inquired whether she had once requested an autograph, to which she responded affirmatively, explaining that she had indeed gotten people to sign a copy of a book, specifically Philip Roth and Elton John.

‘That was because we bought lyrics of Your Song.’

Colbert, 60, asked: ‘Where do you keep those?’ to which The Hour star responded: ‘ ‘Shh.’

Initially, she made her debut in the singing field during Baz Luhrmann’s grand 2001 musical production, Moulin Rouge. There, she sang “Your Song” alongside Ewan McGregor.

Their  duet, Come What May, also became an instant hit.

In 2019, Kidman and Urban sang Your Song.

In the video labeled “Backstage Glance with Keith Urban,” the musician played the piano and sang a tune called “‘If I was a sculptor,'” prompting someone to remark, “But you aren’t.”)

The star was nominated for her 20th Golden Globe for her Babygirl role which has been met with rave reviews from critics and earned her the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival in September.
Dubbed one of the sexiest films of the year, Babygirl sees Nicole play Romy, a middle-aged executive who is married to theatre director Jacob (Antonio Bandaras).

Dissatisfied with her intimate relationships, she discovers what she’s longed for in a colleague at work named Samuel (Harris Dickinson). Their bond deepens into a unique, BDSM-influenced partnership.

Nicole mentioned that the movie intends to portray genuine female sexual satisfaction, although she shares the role with a younger colleague.

Due to its explicit sexual nature, Nicole has decided that her daughters, Sunday Rose (age 16) and Faith Margaret (age 14), whom she shares with musician Keith Urban, should not view the content.

In the Kidman-Urban home, there’s unlikely to be much disagreement regarding the ban on Babygirl, as Nicole’s daughters seem to support it too.

In conversation with The Telegraph, I shared, “Regrettably, my girls haven’t expressed a desire to watch the performance.” I further clarified, “They’ve explicitly stated that they prefer not to witness it. Neither of them seems inclined to catch a glimpse of me in this role.

Earlier, Nicole mentioned that due to having to simulate intimate scenes numerous times during filming, she felt close to exhaustion, similar to being burnt out. However, she also confessed her fear in performing the ‘grunting’ scenes.

She reminded me not to overlook the growling sounds. The entire situation was genuinely frightening, and I confessed my fear to Halina (the film’s writer and director) right from the start.

As a die-hard admirer, I found myself saying, “She assured me, ‘I’ve got you covered. It’s going to be secure – but I crave the humiliation, I yearn for the challenge.’

Due to the strong link between Romy’s sexuality and her struggles for freedom, she’s capable of putting on a show, yet finding it difficult to truly surrender or relax.

It seems there’s often a shared experience among many women when it comes to their sexuality: the desire vs. reality.

In an interview with Vanity Fair prior to the Venice Film Festival premiere, Nicole expressed her uncertainty about being able to watch the explicit scenes in a theater filled with people.

Nicole expressed, “It feels like this production is meant for the cinema and to be experienced alongside an audience. I’m not entirely certain I possess enough courage for it.

She mentioned that while she’s worked on films that were revealing, nothing compares to this particularly intense, challenging encounter.

Nicole openly expressed her concerns about viewers witnessing the explicit scenes, acknowledging that the emotionally exposed filming experience left her in a frazzled state.

She commented that it feels quite peculiar, almost surreal, to realize that what she is doing will soon become public knowledge.

‘This is an element typically kept private within your home recordings, seldom exposed to public view.’
