Strictly Star’s Shocking Health Scare: Rushed to Hospital with No Cure in Sight!

Legendary Russell Grant disclosed an incident where he was urgently taken to the hospital due to a concerning issue with his eye. He was informed that there is currently no known treatment for it.

In 2011, the astrologer who was featured on BBC described waking up on a Monday with what seemed like ‘odd, cotton-like objects’ drifting in his left eye.

Afterward, Russell hurriedly made his way to the hospital’s ophthalmology department to investigate his issue. The physicians subsequently verified that he was experiencing a bleeding at the back of his eye.

The television figure shared that he’d been advised to adapt to the drifting specks, as there’s no treatment available for his ongoing situation at present.

On Twitter, Russell shared his predicament: “On Monday, I awoke with some unusual cotton-like objects drifting in my left eye. I went to an eye specialist for examinations.

The following day, Blackpool Hospital contacted me: I was scheduled for an appointment at the eye clinic the day after. The outcome was that there was bleeding at the back of my eye, but fortunately, there was no retinal damage. However, it appears that I will have to learn to live with a floater, as there is no cure for this condition.

Earlier, Russell learned he had a brain tumor, which initially led him to enter a phase of refusing to accept the reality of the situation.

In late December 2022, he had a surgical operation lasting approximately six hours to extract a tumor from his pituitary gland.

After doctors warned that the growth could potentially damage his optic nerve, he underwent a surgical process to excise the lump from his pituitary gland.

However, before the procedure, he confessed that he was extremely fearful, and expressed his deep appreciation towards the medical staff who successfully performed the operation.

In a conversation with The Mirror, he shared, “Initially, I was in denial and terrified. But on a particular day, I had a comforting and reassuring Zoom meeting with my neurosurgeon, Professor Omar Pathmanaban.

However, the cherry on top was when he remarked, “I’d consider it both an honor and a privilege to remove your tumor… As a child, my mother and I would often watch you during our morning TV shows. It always made me tardy for school.

In a desperate attempt to avoid any potential issues following my surgery, I’ve been ordered to hold back on sneezing and nose blowing for an astonishing six months straight! It feels like I’m playing a game of health-related charades, but I’ll do whatever it takes to ensure a smooth recovery.

He remembered back to when a talk at the astrological society in Blackpool, Northern Lights, in December 2019 made him feel certain that he would encounter significant obstacles.

In the span of a week, his mother experienced a stroke, preceding the widespread outbreak of Covid-19 in the United Kingdom by about three months, followed by the growth of a brain tumor.

In early 2021, when she was 93 years old, his mother relocated to a nursing facility close to the family estate in Watford. Unfortunately, she passed away thereafter.

He said his mum was holding the hand of her granddaughter Joanna at the time of her passing.

Speaking about her passing, Grant shared: ‘I went through a deep mourning process. It was heartbreaking. I felt remorseful, I felt like I had failed her, despite caring for her since the 1970s, yet I wasn’t with her in her final moments.’

After a few months, he fell from the 21st position to the 15th, but later examinations revealed that there was no cortisol, a stress hormone, in his body.

Initially, Russell hesitated about getting an MRI, but the examination uncovered that a tumor was encroaching on his optic nerve.

Without a major procedure, he was told he could lose his sight.

At first hesitant, singer and good friend Russell Watson – who also went through the same surgery in 2006 – strongly advised Grant to have the operation without delay.

The astrologer chose the date of his surgery based on his astrology charts – choosing November 24.

After the surgery, he emphasized that each day is valuable, and he strives to accomplish tasks significant not only for himself but also for a larger context.

My current situation is improving, yet it’s not fully satisfactory. However, I’ve been told that it might take about half a year for things to get completely back on track.
