Matt Damon and Ben Affleck reunite in first look at Netflix’s “gripping” crime thriller
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck reunite for Netflix’s latest crime thriller titled “RIP“, directed by screenwriter and director Joe Carnahan.
Based on real-life incidents, this movie is labeled as an intense and suspenseful crime drama. In it, the pair portray police officers encountering large sums of money hidden away in an abandoned warehouse. This discovery sets off a chain reaction, causing the bond between their team members to weaken.
As more information emerges about the scale of their predicament, it leaves them doubting everyone’s loyalty and trustworthiness.
RIP will be released on Netflix this autumn, and you can check out a first look image below:
I’m deeply saddened to share that this movie also features the talents of Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Sasha Calle, Scott Adkins, Kyle Chandler, Nestor Carbonell, and Lina Esco. What a stellar cast! 😢
Alongside Luciana Damon and Dani Bernfield, both Damon and Affleck were involved in producing the movie through their production company, Artists Equity. This same company is known for creating films such as “Air”, “Small Things Like These”, and “Unstoppable”.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m all about fair play, and that’s exactly what Artists Equity is designed for – ensuring a balanced score in the world of entertainment. It’s all about making sure the talented folks behind the scenes get their due share of profits from their projects.
The initial clips for the film titled “RIP” were exclusively displayed last night at a Next on Netflix event in London. There, Affleck characterized the movie as a blend of “Heat“, “Narc“, and “Training Day“, and described it as an “engrossing, intricate human drama.
Among the notable Netflix original films this year, you’ll find “RIP” sharing the screen with the British thriller titled “The Woman in Cabin 10,” the third installment of the “Knives Out” series, the much-anticipated sequel “The Old Guard 2,” and a new adaptation of “Frankenstein.
This year, Ben Affleck returns to the silver screen with “The Accountant 2,” where he once again portrays the character of Christian Wolff. The film is slated for a cinema release on April 25th, after having its premiere at SXSW in March.
RIP will be released on Netflix in autumn 2025.
