ITV’s Unforgotten confirms return date – and it’s soon
ITV has confirmed the return date for crime drama Unforgotten — and fans don’t have long to wait.
Starting this coming Sunday, February 9th, at 9:00 PM, Season 6 of the crime series that debuted in 2015 will be making its return on ITV1 and STV. The second episode is set to air the following day, Monday, February 10th, also at 9:00 PM.
In the latest development, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Sinéad Keenan reprise their roles as detectives Sunny and Jess. They are summoned to the scene when a marsh uncovers human remains, indicating that the deceased had been dismembered prior.
The upcoming season will introduce fresh characters into the storyline. Among them are a vocal television pundit, an individual with autism residing with his mother, an Afghan man preparing for his U.K. citizenship exam, and a professor specializing in history. At first glance, their lives appear to have no common threads; however, as events transpire, it becomes apparent that they may be intertwined – even implicated in a murder.
As filming began in March, Chris Lang, both creator and author, expressed that the season would unfold a tale that had been brewing for close to eight years, ever since June 23rd, 2016 – the day our nation appeared to split apart.
He went on to say: “Today, the UK, as well as the globe, appears more split than ever. Series six aims to explore how we arrived at this point and, even more crucially, where we might head next.
Andry Wilson continues to be in charge for each episode thus far, and he will also direct all six of the forthcoming episodes. Additionally, production company Mainstreet Pictures is set to join us again.
Beginning on February 9th, “Unforgotten” makes its comeback on ITV1 and STV. You can also catch it streaming on ITVX and STV Player. If you’d like to revisit past seasons, Seasons 1-5 are already available for streaming now.
