ITV star teases Ant and Dec’s plans to bring back iconic ‘90s TV show

According to ITV’s Cat Deeley, popular presenters Ant and Dec might be bringing back an old successful TV series of theirs in the near future.

For five years, between 1998 and 2003, the star of ‘This Morning’ appeared regularly with the well-known Geordie duo on the live show ‘SM:TV’.

Pondering back on the cherished kids’ Saturday program, Deeley casually mentioned that Ant and Dec have been secretly plotting a comeback with a revamped version.

On this week’s edition of “This Morning,” I had a delightful chat with my fellow TV alum, Stephen Mulhern. We nostalgically journeyed down memory lane, discussing the beloved Saturday morning TV lineup from the ’90s and ’00s.

“They were great, great times,” Mulhern remarked. “I genuinely think they are missed.”

Intriguingly, Ant and Dec hinted at the possibility of reviving a weekend morning program for children, according to Deeley’s suggestion. He seems quite enthusiastic about it.

“Oh really?” Mulhern replied. “Do you know something? That would be amazing.”

Ant and Dec have expressed their fondness for television programming on Saturdays before, mentioning that they hope the classic children’s show format will return to our screens.

Ant McPartlin expressed strongly that the type of Saturday morning television shows broadcast on traditional television is crucial for children, just as vital today as it was during our childhood.

As a fellow enthusiast, I find myself drawn to this platform because it’s where my favorite tunes reside, where I discover my beloved cultural nods, and where I stay updated on the shows that shape youth culture. It’s hard not to jump on the bandwagon when everyone else is tuning in!

“It would be great if somebody bucked the trend of cooking shows.”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
