Lady Gaga’s Fiery Vow After Trump’s Win: “We’re Not Going Down Without a Fight!”

After the 2024 presidential election, which she deemed distressing for numerous people, Lady Gaga pledged to persist in her advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community.

During a recent conversation with Elle magazine, held just six days following the U.S. election results announcement, the 38-year-old artist shared thoughts about her response to Donald Trump becoming the 45th President of the United States.

The Poker Face singer stated prior to the launch of her seventh album, Mayhem, scheduled for March 7th, that it’s strange because I never anticipated this would occur. I hoped it wouldn’t. Yet, here we find ourselves.

She added: ‘What matters most is the immense empathy and affection I hold for countless individuals who are anxious today. I wish to express my appreciation, acknowledging that I am truly fortunate and deeply thankful for all the blessings in my life on a daily basis.’

13-time Grammy Award recipient, who endorsed Kamala Harris, later emphasized that many individuals found this election deeply distressing for their very existence. Thus, in his view, community will be of utmost importance moving forward.

This thought brings to mind the idea that we all rely on one another, and standing together is crucial. I happen to be among those who stand with the LGBTQIA+ and other underrepresented groups. Furthermore, she emphasized, ‘We won’t back down easily.’

The artist, known for her role in “The Joker: Folie à Deux” (born as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta), expressed: ‘We stand united. It may be challenging, but I’m ready. We’re ready. And I want everyone to understand how profoundly they’re cherished and never unseen.’

Gaga, an outspoken Democrat, also revealed how she plans on making a difference.

She clarified: ‘I connect with those dear to me, make time for them, acknowledge that my experiences are unique compared to many people I care about. This has been significant for me – despite feeling overwhelmed, I understand the difference between my situation and others.’

The artist mentioned that she intends to carry on with her commitment to aid local communities and, just as before, utilize her stage to voice her opinions.

As someone who’s been deeply immersed in this world since I was 20, I’ve come to understand that the words spoken from a grand podium can hold just as much weight as those whispered behind closed doors. The persona you project for all to see is the person you aspire to be, even when the spotlight fades. That’s the essence of Gaga’s conclusion.

In 2021, the individual who won an Oscar took part in Joe Biden’s inaugural event, a moment she described as one of the most proud achievements of her professional life.

The previous year, she attended a rally with Kamala Harris, just before Election Day, close to Pittsburgh. There, she performed “America the Beautiful.

Following her impressive act, she delivered an impassioned address, emphasizing that for over half of our nation’s existence, women had been voiceless.

She stated, ‘Until now, women hadn’t found their voice. We cared for children, kept our families strong, and backed up men as they took charge of decisions. However, tomorrow, women will have a say in these decisions.’ She also expressed gratitude for the resilient, strong-willed women who shaped her into who she is today.

Gaga emphasized her support for a candidate who aims to serve as a president for everyone, representing all American citizens.

She addressed the crowd, saying, “Now it’s Pennsylvania’s time to shine. The nation is counting on you. Tomorrow, let’s ensure everyone’s opinions are expressed. Let’s move forward together!

In the end, Trump managed to win both the Electoral College and the overall national vote, amassing 71.2 million votes compared to Vice President Harris’ 66.4 million. He did so by securing some key decisive battleground states.

Last week, Trump took the oath of office to become the 45th president of the United States.

I’ve always been unafraid to voice my opinions on political matters, and in 2017, I stood alongside Biden as we advocated for an initiative focused on eradicating violence against women.

In the public service announcement video, she expressed: ‘It can be alarming to start each day with a sense of insecurity about your own body, yet remember, it’s crucial to confide in someone reliable in your circle.’

It is never acceptable for a man to physically harm a woman, except in the case of self-defense. This rule applies in all situations, without exception.

Beyond championing women’s rights and standing up for the LGBTQ+ community, I passionately lend my voice to numerous charitable causes. Among them is the Born This Way Foundation, a philanthropic endeavor I proudly co-founded with my mom, where we strive to empower young people and create a kinder, braver world.

Apart from that, she has additionally worked with organizations such as Advocates for Youth, the Alzheimer’s Association, Autism Speaks, American Foundation for AIDS Research, Artists for Peace and Justice, among others.
