Former AEW champion Sting announces 2025 is his last year in ‘war paint’
Sting’s professional wrestling journey within AEW concluded at AEW Revolution last March, when he, along with Darby Allin, triumphed over the Young Bucks in a match. His entrance into the company occurred at “Winter Is Coming” in 2020. His debut bout was a cinematic match at Revolution in February of the same year, and his initial in-ring battle took place at Double or Nothing. During his time with AEW, he participated in a total of 19 matches.
Under the title “The Icon,” a busy travel itinerary spans the nation. At each stop for appearances and autograph sessions, spectators can expect the authentic Sting experience, complete with extensive makeup. If you’re eager to immerse yourself in the true Sting atmosphere, make sure to plan your visit by 2025 as it will be your final opportunity.
Title Queen Kimmy Sokol announced on social media that 2025 will mark Sting’s final year performing at conventions, donning costumes and face paint. She shared several dates for appearances throughout 2025, so keep an eye out for “The Icon” as he visits a city near you.

Simultaneously, Sokol’s social media update and Sting himself announced his decision. “I have relished meeting fans at global events. As much as I have treasured our interactions in the usual Stinger war paint, I’ve decided that 2025 will be my final year performing in full regalia. Guess it’s 2025 or nothing. Quite a challenge to say it out loud.
From one event to another across the globe, I’ve treasured meeting fans and our interactions in traditional Stinger war paint. However, I’ve made the decision that 2025 will be my final year participating fully geared up. It feels like 2025 or never – quite a challenge to verbalize this change, but it seems inevitable.

Over the weekend, Sting made his first public appearance since the announcement. This time, it was at OG Collectibles in Los Angeles for a signing session. Fans may have noticed that Sting sported a new look – a beard and grey hair. He shared a video of highlights from the event on social media and asked his followers to suggest where he should go next.
Since Sting, the ex-AEW Tag Team Champion, doesn’t have a personal website, keep tabs on his whereabouts by following him on social media platforms. Additionally, you might want to look into upcoming events’ lists at conventions or collectibles shops in your area to see if he’s scheduled to appear nearby.
