Quentin Tarantino reveals real reason behind long directing absence
Quentin Tarantino has revealed the real reason he hasn’t directed a movie in a while.
The most recent movie directed by him was “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” released in 2019. However, he’s currently focusing on raising his newborn son, Leo, born in 2020, and has temporarily stepped away from filmmaking duties.
At a Sundance Film Festival gathering, he stated, “I’m not feeling the need to immediately start production; I’ve spent the past three decades doing so.
Quentin Tarantino expressed that he’d prefer not to start working on a new film until his son turns six. This implies that his upcoming project may not be released until at least the next year.
Indeed, he admitted he’s been developing a stage production, hinting playfully: “Should this become a resounding success, it could well be my final film appearance.
In 2019, the director hinted that his upcoming film might have an epiloguesque feel, and in the following two years, he mentioned that there could be a chance this project might mark the end of his career.
Tarantino shared that he has a deep understanding of film history, and as far as he’s concerned, directors aren’t surpassing his level of greatness. (He said this during an interview on Real Time with Bill Maher.)
He stated, “I don’t have an argument that I would feel comfortable expressing publicly, which could potentially sway the general public or the Supreme Court.
Simultaneously, my three-decade-long journey in the film industry may not be as extensive as some others, but it’s undeniably a prolonged one. It’s an incredibly lengthy career, and I’ve poured all of my passion and effort into it.
Quentin Tarantino has a reputation for directing films like “Pulp Fiction”, “Reservoir Dogs”, “Inglourious Basterds” and “Django Unchained”.
