Netflix’s Beef season 2 gets exciting update
Carey Mulligan has shared an exciting update on the second season of Beef.
In April 2023, the popular show made its premiere on Netflix, focusing on the story of Steven Yeun and Ali Wong’s characters, Danny and Amy. Their lives take a dramatic turn when a heated argument while driving leads to an ongoing dispute.
Last summer, it was announced that Mulligan would be joining forces with Oscar Isaac on the upcoming season. Now, he’s confirmed that production has officially kicked off.
“We just started. Almost everything [is different],” the Maestro actor told Variety.
However, Lee Sung Jin continues to impress with this fresh tale. If I reveal any more, a spotlight might shine on me – or so it seems! Yet, the anticipation is electrifying.
In the recent awards season, “Beef” triumphed significantly, as Jeon Yeun and Wong clinched the Best Actor and Best Actress titles for a Limited Series at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Awards, and the Emmys.
Instead, the duo won’t reappear in season two, since the series is opting for an anthology structure. This means that viewers can expect a completely fresh tale featuring brand-new characters.
In the affluent realm of a South Korean country club owned by a wealthy businessman, a young couple accidentally stumbles upon an intense argument between their boss and his spouse. This incident sets off a chain of strategic maneuvers involving favors and pressure within the exclusive society.
Additionally, Charles Melton from “May December,” Cailee Spaeny who played Priscilla, and the actress Youn Yuh-jung known for her role in “Pachinko” are also part of the cast.

Besides Mulligan and Isaac, there’s Charles Melton from “May December,” Cailee Spaeny who was in “Priscilla,” and Youn Yuh-jung from “Pachinko.” They all make up the rest of the cast members.
Previously, the creator of Beef, Lee Sung Jin, had confirmed that the show was originally presented as a series of anthologies. Each season would introduce a fresh conflict involving different characters, much like a continuous beef.
As the second season unfolds in this manner, he hasn’t definitively excluded the possibility of reintroducing characters from the first season at some point, expressing: “Simultaneously, I have a deep affection for Danny, Amy, George, Paul, and the universe we built. Consequently, I remain open to all possibilities.
Beef is available to stream on Netflix.
