Ronan Keating’s Glam Night with Storm at Boyzone Documentary Launch

On the night of the Boyzone documentary launch, Ronan Keating cut a dashing figure in a stylish brown vest, with his elegant spouse Storm by his side providing support.

47-year-old band member sported a stylish ensemble by wearing a waistcoat over a gray, torn tank top for his appearance at London’s Roundhouse, which commemorated the launch of “Boyzone: No Matter What.

Dressed for the glitzy evening, he piled on the layers with a black knee-length trench coat.

He completed his outfit with a sleek pair of black, shimmery lace-up boots, embellished with intricate gold bird head designs on the laces.

Ronan adorned himself with numerous golden necklaces and a single black earring stud, embellished with a tiny cross pendant.

Meanwhile his wife Storm looked chic as she graced the red carpet in a woolen Chanel jumper.

She matched the expensive sweater with a form-fitting long black skirt that she accessorized with a slim black Chanel belt.

To accessorise, Storm added extra glam as she gripped a black leather crossbody Chanel bag.

She completed her stylish outfit with a set of big gold hoop earrings and several gold bangles.

Meanwhile, another band member, Keith Duffy, was the focus of the glamorous event, donning a striking red leopard print shirt beneath a sleek black tuxedo.

Shane Lynch opted for a more classic choice and graced the red carpet wearing an all-black ensemble

Boyzone’s song “No Matter What” showcases unprecedented footage of their manager Louis Walsh along with band members Ronan, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch, and the late Stephen, plus interviews from individuals who were intimately acquainted with the group.

In a poignant moment, they reminisced about spending the night before Stephen’s funeral beside his casket inside the church.

In October 2009, Stephen unexpectedly passed away at his residence in Port d’Andratx, Mallorca. An examination later revealed that his death was due to a pulmonary edema stemming from an unidentified heart condition.

Mikey clarified, “We found it unpleasant that he had to spend the night all by himself in the church.” Meanwhile, Ronan mentioned, “He wasn’t fond of the chilly temperatures.

During the evening conversation, Mikey mentioned that when everyone else departed, leaving only the five of us, there was a profound feeling of tranquility, camaraderie.

‘I’d rather not use the word “sadness” since, surprisingly enough, our evening turned out to be quite humorous. The kind of joking that we used to engage in during the initial days when everything was fresh and untainted… but the dawn came all too soon.’

Ronan received the news about Stephen’s passing from the band’s lawyer, and then reached out to the rest of the band members and Louis to inform them firsthand.

‘It just wouldn’t go in,’ Keith said. ‘Not our Stephen.’ 

Mikey added: ‘My world just fell apart.’

The following year, the group embarked on the Brother tour as a tribute to Stephen. Mike shared, ‘It was enjoyable being together again.’

Elsewhere in the docuseries, talk turned to the toxic infighting that plagued Boyzone. 

1999 marked a pivotal year for Ronan, who was still part of the band at the time. He recorded a rendition of “When You Say Nothing at All” for the film “Notting Hill.” This single climbed to the top spot in the UK charts, and it ignited Ronan’s ambition to venture into a solo career. Consequently, the band took a break from their activities.

At this point, Ronan chose to retain Louis as his manager, yet found himself discontented with the trajectory of his career. He yearned to alter the musical genre and compose his own tunes instead.

In response to the criticism from the music magnate, Ronan asserted: “He erred significantly. His decisions were misguided. He seemed unaware of my whereabouts.

Suggestion: It’s implied that Louis was more focused on getting spots on shows like Pop Idol and The X Factor, rather than managing them. He essentially transformed into a television personality, a role he landed due to his position as the manager of Boyzone.

It became clear that things weren’t working out under Louis’ leadership, and it seemed he wasn’t an exceptional manager. I provided numerous chances for improvement.

‘I have one shot at my career and he didn’t give a f**k, it fell on deaf ears.’ 

Countering this, Louis asserted: “Ronan was more of a mainstream artist, catering predominantly to an older female audience – that was his niche, that was his specialty.

It surprised me when he shared that instead of being a karaoke artist, he aspired to produce and compose his own music, aiming to become a legitimate artist.

Regarding the instance when Ronan dismissed him as manager, Louis expressed: “I’ve always been honest with him, you’re quite fortunate.

Initially, we had a divorce. In our public disputes, I may have labeled him as talentless and other harsh words. Looking back now, do I feel remorse for those statements? Yes, to some extent.

Angrily, Ronan went on: ‘He was skilled at causing me pain with his cruel, biting words. He attempted to damage both me and my professional life.’

Besides his disagreement with Louis, Ronan was simultaneously experiencing tension within the Boyzone group, as some members were pushing for a reunion, while Ronan preferred to focus on his solo ventures.

As a loyal bandmate, I must admit that the tension was brewing even before we took our break. The relentless workload was taking its toll on us all, and it seemed as though we were drowning in responsibilities. To add fuel to the fire, there was a growing sense of resentment towards Louis, who appeared to favor Ronan more than the rest of us.

Louis mentioned that as the group grew, maintaining their satisfaction became increasingly challenging since they started requiring more resources and desired more breaks.

At its highest point, it was an incredibly tough period with absolutely no leniency… We were exhausted, we were shattered.

Mikey commented, “Everyone was feeling drained, both physically, mentally, and emotionally,” as Ronan shared that the team hadn’t taken more than three weeks of break over the past six years.

Ronan clarified, ‘Our time together grew excessive, which often leads to complications within our relationship. Perhaps those complications first appeared as tiny fissures.’

Expressing his perspective on the conflict, Louis stated: ‘Everyone involved seemed to have a strong sense of self-importance, and each one desired greater fame than they currently possessed.’

Ronan was always the go-to person for me when I needed assistance, whether it involved completing a task or convincing others to take on a gig that they were hesitant about.

Together, we were co-leading the team. He took on a majority of the decision-making tasks, and we communicated nearly every day about various aspects.
