3 Ring of Honor performers who would work on the AEW main roster
Ring of Honor (ROH) is a wrestling organization with a rich history in the industry, serving as a stepping stone for many prominent figures today. After being acquired by Tony Khan, it’s become part of All Elite Wrestling (AEW). While opinions differ on how ROH has been utilized since the acquisition, there’s no denying that they have some exceptional talent on their roster. Here are three performers from ROH who could be great additions to AEW’s main events.
To begin with, it’s worth noting that Athena won’t be found on this list as she’s been primed for her moment in the limelight as “Forever Champion.” It seems Khan is yet to fully capitalize on her star potential, but we can discuss that later. With the longest reigning ROH World Champion of all time left out of our discussion, let me present three other names poised for an extended title run instead.
Lee Moriarty
Lee Moriarty is a talent that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) fans have been eagerly anticipating joining the company since his debut. Similar to Daniel Garcia, he’s viewed as one of those rising stars who could significantly influence not only AEW but the entire professional wrestling industry. As of now, he has held the ROH Pure Championship for 183 days. During this time, he’s managed victories against Nigel McGuinness, Preston Vance, Angelico, and others. An intriguing possibility is placing him as the fourth member of The Hurt Syndicate. Imagine him as the game-changer that would boost the group’s power to tackle the Death Riders. There’s potential in this idea that warrants further exploration.
Gates of Agony
Occasionally, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona appear on AEW shows, often in matches where they lose to other teams. These losses seem to position them as underdogs within the tag team division. Yet, they occasionally secure victories on Ring of Honor. Upon observing Kaun and Liona, it’s clear that they possess an imposing presence that suggests they should be utilized more prominently in the tag team division. Some believe Kaun could also thrive as a solo performer. If AEW aims to revamp their tag team division, this duo ought to be considered potential rising stars and even title contenders in the future.
EJ Nduka
EJ Nduka is one of the AEW/ROH signings with immense promise, having initially piqued fans’ interest during his time in WWE but failing to deliver significant results. However, he truly made a name for himself in MLW and has since become an athlete worth keeping a close watch on. Now that he’s joined AEW/ROH, it’s suggested that he be developed as a dominant powerhouse with a gradual accumulation of victories before placing him in a more prominent storyline. As of now, it remains uncertain whether Nduka will receive much screen time on AEW television. Nevertheless, he is another performer in ROH who could potentially make an impact on the main roster.
