Leanne Quigley’s Heartfelt Win: Tribute to Cancer-Free Sophie
Leanne Quigley has paid emotional tribute to her fiancée Sophie after winning The Traitors.
On Friday, the previous military personnel, aged 28, and his companion Jake Brown, also 28, triumphed in the thrilling finale of the BBC One contest and pocketed a cash prize of £94,600.
In the last seconds, the pair made the decision to expel Francesca Rowan-Plowden and Alexander Dragonetti, along with the traitor, Charlotte Berman, in the surprising turn of events known as the Seer twist.
As time ran out, the duo chose to exclude Francesca Rowan-Plowden and Alexander Dragonetti, along with the treacherous Charlotte Berman, during the shocking plot twist called the Seer.
Following my momentous victory, I found myself on Instagram, expressing heartfelt gratitude towards Sophie. Her unwavering support during our challenging journey with cancer has been truly inspiring.
Leanne posted: “Amazing! I still find it hard to accept that I’m the one typing this… [with a picture of her with Jake and Claudia Winkleman]
I am immensely grateful to each and every one of you for your unwavering support and extraordinary kindness. Above all, I want to express my deepest appreciation to my soon-to-be spouse, Sophie, whose love and encouragement have been instrumental in my journey.
Leanne went on: ‘That was THE most emotional ending I could have imagined.
I adore you both, Francesca Rowan-Plowden and Alexander Dragonetti, to an incredible degree. It’s more than fortunate that through this game, I’ve found lifelong friends.
To our exceptional host, Claudia Winkleman, for being the finest host the world has seen, and to the remarkable Studio Lambert production team, who consistently amaze us.
She concluded: ‘And to Jake Brown [heart emoji] WE DID IT.’
Leanne paid homage to Sophie, following the news that her partner had received a clean bill of health after a covert struggle against breast cancer.
The television personality, along with his partner Sophie, is blessed with two-year-old twins named Hudson and Harper. Sophie proposed to him last August.
At the start of this month, she expressed her joy that Sophie overcame breast cancer after a tough fight against the illness that affected them deeply.
Sharing a picture of herself along with Sophie at the hospital during treatment, she penned: ‘This was the piece of information we were hoping for and delighted to hear.’
Leanne continued: “On July 31, 2024, the mother of my children and I were devastated when she was diagnosed with a severe stage 3 breast cancer. Witnessing someone you cherish endure chemotherapy is one of the hardest experiences life can offer.
From now on, we swiftly realized the importance of not taking things for granted, and painfully discovered that the future can never be guaranteed. The uncertainty of what lies ahead instilled a deep-seated fear within us.
Yesterday, on January 8th, 2025, I had the immense pleasure of learning that the strongest woman on Earth was declared cancer-free. Witnessing her courage and resilience throughout this journey has been truly humbling. I can’t find the words to express my pride in her or convey the awe I feel for her everyday strength.
Today, we embark on a journey of unbridled jubilation, a testament to our remarkable boys and the anticipation of an extraordinary future ahead. Words fall short in expressing my profound gratitude towards the NHS; they have miraculously saved not just me, but my entire family. A debt of eternal thanks also to our steadfast support system.
‘It’s truly a blessing to have such an amazing family and circle of friends around us. For those battling, or for those who watch their loved ones struggle with this terrible illness, know that you are seen and felt. Keep going, please, don’t lose hope.’
Sophie expressed: “You’ve carried yourself with great dignity, and guided me through all of this, darling. Frankly, there isn’t another woman I’d rather have by my side. I adore you immensely.
‘Thank you for everything over the last 6 months. Now let’s go and enjoy our life.’
As I gracefully stepped into the grandeur of the castle, Leanne confided that the winnings would be earmarked towards our shared dream: expanding our family through IVF treatments for another child. Her journey, marked by the challenges of her first pregnancy, was undeniably arduous, yet her resilience and yearning to grow our little family were truly inspiring.
She mentioned that she underwent In-Vitro Fertilization with her twin sons, and throughout her pregnancy, she wasn’t in good health. Her labor started prematurely at six months, and when her boys were born, they were just 26 weeks old. Due to her poor health during that time, she feels she missed the opportunity to fully enjoy the newborn phase.
I am incredibly thankful for their presence in my life, and consider myself extremely fortunate that they are still with me. Upon returning home from the hospital following a three-month stay, they arrived needing oxygen support, making it challenging to get them out and about.
I’d be thrilled if we could consider having another child someday, hoping for a smoother journey this time. It would also be wonderful to expand our family a little more.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me tell you, I’ve never encountered such exquisite, miniature miracles as these newborns. Every day, I marvel at their resilience and strength. I take immense pride in witnessing their daily battles and victories.
After carefully pondering over it, we’ve decided to make our announcement: Our precious babies have arrived! They’re battling their way through life, and every bit of love and prayer sent their way is truly invaluable.
