An unlikely Aussie star has been cast in Russell Crowe’s new US-made film, Beast in Me.
Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark will portray the role of the daughter in the upcoming film, with production taking place in Thailand at present, where actress and former Gladiator star is also involved.
In this upcoming production, Daniel MacPherson from Neighbours and Luke Hemsworth will join forces with Australian Idol judge, who is 38 years old, for the very first time as they delve into the world of film acting together.
In my latest Instagram post on Tuesday, I, Amy (Amy Louise Billings), happily announced some exciting updates to my followers.
‘Bangkok for the next week to become a movie star,’ she posted.
She mentioned: “I’ve been in Bangkok for a week now, shooting my initial film, perhaps a real movie. There’s an abundance of things to discuss regarding it, so I’ll hold off on providing details for the moment – there’s simply too much to share.

Amy shared an image featuring her in a black ensemble, complete with a baseball cap, casually holding the movie’s classified script labeled as ‘confidential’.
According to Newswire, Crowe, 60, personally picked the hitmaker in the film.
Simultaneously, Variety announced back in September that the movie, produced in the U.S., would be jointly penned by the Academy Award winner and David Frigero, an American screenwriter who is also serving as a producer for the film.
Information unveiled about the movie indicates that it unfolds within the intensely competitive and harsh environment of mixed martial arts (MMA).
The story revolves around a past MMA champion, portrayed by MacPherson, as he embarks on a journey of vengeance for his deceased brother.
In this scenario, Crowe plays a skilled mentor who assists MacPherson’s character in regaining fighting form for an important match at the prominent Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition, One Championship.
According to Variety, One Championship, a prominent combat sports promotion, is backing the film.
The backing they provide enables the film crew to capture fight sequences during an event taking place in Bangkok over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Amy is also set to appear in the upcoming comedy-spoof Zombie Plane.
The film is being directed by Australian filmmaker Tyler Atkins.
After Amy defended herself against being called a ‘sellout’, she joined the judging panel for Australian Idol.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that in 2023, I found myself joining the esteemed judging panel of a popular singing competition that took the world by storm. Last season, I was warmly received, and I’m excited to announce my return for this year!
But Amy has clapped back at claims she’s given up on her solo music career.
The Adore hitmaker expressed to Herald Sun last May, “I don’t feel any embarrassment or self-consciousness.” They added, “Once you reach that point in your life, you become invincible.
Amy added she likes that fans can see her ‘normal’ side on Idol.
‘I understand some people may view it as a compromise or even a negative move, but I feel differently. I take pride in making that decision, seizing the chance, and following my own path during the process.’
Last August Amy released a new album of tunes, Sunday Sadness, and completed a successful tour.
