Zoe Ball confirmed for BBC Radio 2 return with “new show”
Zoe Ball is set to return to BBC Radio 2 with a “new show”.
Last month, the host aired her last episode of the “Breakfast Show” following her announcement in November that she was leaving the position. Since then, Scott Mills has been leading the show.
In fact, it’s been verified by my co-host Gabby Roslin (who stepped in while Ball was on a lengthy hiatus last year) that our dear colleague is coming back to the radio station, launching a fresh program this time around.
According to Roslin, she’s not resigning; instead, she’ll be hosting a fresh program on Radio 2, as she revealed in her recent interview with iNews.
However, she didn’t disclose when Ball will return or what slot she will have on the station.
Towards the conclusion of her last “Breakfast Show” a month ago, Ball expressed gratitude to her audience, stating it was an honor to have been their companion each morning for the previous six years. She also mentioned that it felt like she was simply chatting with a friend during those times.
“It’s such a special intimate relationship. It’s never lost on me.”
She went on to say: “We’ve faced life’s ups and downs side by side. I truly wish we’ve been able to bring some brightness and relief during tough times, a silly diversion from the harder aspects. Your messages throughout the years have left me in awe.
I really appreciate you telling me your tales… Listening together has brought plenty of laughter, a touch of silliness, some heartfelt moments, numerous songs, and even some dance moves. Let’s keep the good times rolling!
Additionally, the presenter acknowledged Scott Mills, whom she referred to as one of the “good ones,” while expressing confidence that they, along with the audience, will have plenty of enjoyable times ahead.
Previously, Mills was the host for the BBC Radio 2’s afternoon program. However, that role has since been assumed by Trevor Nelson.
