Spencer Pratt Reveals Shocking Truth: Why He Can’t Stop Sharing Family Struggles Online!
Spencer Pratt is going above and beyond to help his family financially, as the recent Los Angeles fires forced him and his wife Heidi Montag, aged 38, to lose their home. This situation demands a significant amount of additional effort from him at present.
41-year-old former star of The Hills clarified his frequent social media activity following their house fire, attributing it to the fact that they are not financially well-off.
Pratt stated to People that if he were wealthy, he wouldn’t need to use an app; instead, he would be busy purchasing a new home and making purchases.
‘So, I don’t think we would’ve shared anything vulnerable,’ he explained.
Pratt continued to emphasize that they rely on social media for income and providing for their children, Gunner, aged six, and Ryker, who’s two.
He went on to say: We’ve previously earned income through this method, it’s part of our lifestyle. For approximately eight years, Heidi and I have been sharing content daily on Snapchat – essentially living our lives on the platform.
Every day, they produce content as it’s our means of earning money to cover expenses, Spencer clarified.
In such challenging times, even when faced with losing everything including our home, it’s essential not to abandon the very activity that brings in our income.
‘I don’t think we would’ve shared anything — honestly — if we didn’t need money,’ Pratt concluded.
Last week, the celebrity from reality TV disclosed that he had earned a substantial sum, described as ‘game-changing’, on TikTok since he began sharing videos about his struggle with losing his house.
Spencer shared with Variety: “I earned approximately $4,000 from TikTok this week, but an astonishing $20,000 through TikTok Live where viewers can directly donate to me. This is truly extraordinary and potentially life-altering.
‘That’s the power of individual supporters, people just backing you and getting behind you.
As a devoted supporter, I find it truly astonishing and extraordinary when genuine human connections replace the need for advertisements, artificial intelligence, and algorithms. It’s simply breathtaking to witness people willingly giving without any constraints.
Spencer has even been able to use the platform to promote his wife’s 2010 pop album, Superficial:
‘I’m unsure about the exact amount of money that the music has generated. It isn’t clear to me whether the payments will come in the form of checks or not, and when they might arrive. However, everyone keeps reminding me that I shouldn’t count on receiving any money.’
I’m thrilled by the vitality and prospects this brings. I don’t believe these streams and graphs are where the profit comes from.
Spencer expressed that his time on TikTok had rekindled a feeling of optimism within him, after the devastating wildfires.
According to what I’ve been informed, the music industry primarily revolves around touring and merchandise, as well as other associated elements. This is typically how artists generate income, with the exception of those who achieve billions of streams, a goal I’m actively working towards achieving.
Not just yet, but things are looking up! I choose to stay hopeful because that’s the best way to face these challenges.
The family, comprising a pair and their two boys aged six (Gunner) and two (Ryker), hastily departed from the affected region, abandoning the majority of their possessions as they did so.
It wasn’t Heidi and Spencer who set up the GoFundMe, but rather two of their friends on TikTok did so for them. This action stirred up controversy on social media as many people criticized this, noting that there are numerous others who have also lost their homes, particularly those less fortunate.
Spencer countered the criticism by stating emphatically that neither he nor Heidi are affluent individuals. Moreover, he emphasized that there was no obligation for anyone to contribute funds to them, and he clarified that it wasn’t a tax matter, as reported by Us Weekly.
The duo commonly recognized as Speidi initially gained popularity as a reality TV pair on the show ‘The Hills’, which wrapped up on MTV back in 2010.
Apart from the more than $134,000 they raised through GoFundMe, they’ve additionally been making money in various ways; for instance, Spencer is capitalizing on sales of his Pratt Daddy Crystals.
In the meantime, Heidi’s devoted fans are playing her 2010 album Superficial with such excitement that her song “I’ll Do It” climbed to the top of the iTunes US chart.
Other famous personalities lent a hand to her, with Paris Hilton and Emily Ratajkowski using their social media platforms to promote her music. Both of them, unfortunately, had their homes destroyed by the fires as well.
