Wicked’s Ariana Grande reveals hidden Sex and the City cameo

Ariana Grande revealed that a renowned actress from “Sex and the City” makes a surprising appearance in the musical “Wicked,” which might be hard to identify during an initial viewing.

According to Variety’s report, the special features on the home release of the musical adaptation are filled with exclusive insights from Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and director Jon M Chu, who reveal behind-the-scenes tidbits about the making of Wicked.

As it happens, an actor from the popular series “Sex and the City” provided the voice for a character during a short screen time.

Known to “SATC” enthusiasts as David Eigenberg, the man who portrayed Steve Brady, Miranda Hobbes’ former spouse.

Or simply:
David Eigenberg, well recognized by “SATC” fans as the actor who played Steve Brady, Miranda Hobbes’ ex-husband.

In the musical Wicked, Eigenberg lent his voice to the role of the Tamarin Monkey, a character who says, “A solicitor was dismissed merely for debating a case,” prior to the beginning of ‘Something Bad’.

As a dedicated gamer, I can say without a doubt that this single appearance is hands-down the highlight of the entire production. You see, you’ve been slaying it for 20 seasons on Sex and the City, and here, you managed to bring that same charm and brilliance to this project. Simply fantastic!

But not everyone managed to bag a cameo in one of the hottest musical movies of last year.

Chu mentioned that Lin-Manuel Miranda, a collaborator on the adaptation of In the Heights, expressed great interest in portraying the Munchkin who inquired about Glinda’s friendship.

According to Chu, he received numerous calls from Lin, and there’s a possibility that Lin mentioned it on Twitter. However, Chu chose not to respond because he thought it could cause unnecessary distraction.

“Sorry, Lin!” he added.

You can catch “Wicked” on big screens at cinemas right now. If you prefer watching it at home, you can purchase or rent it on Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store, and several other platforms.
