Michelle Keegan insists Brassic has not been axed in tribute to fans of the show
Michelle Keegan has addressed rumours that Brassic has been axed after seven seasons.
A well-known actor from the show “Coronation Street” is teamed up with Joe Gilgun in the humorous series, where they portray a band of small-time crooks in the imaginary town of Hawley.
Earlier this year, images emerged showing the actor who played Erin Croft during the shooting of the final episodes for the upcoming series.
Viewers swiftly began guessing the reasons behind the popular series’ ending, as some assumed the decision to cancel it originated from the producers.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to clarify that Michelle, the radiant star of Our Girl, has refuted such speculations. Instead, she explained that Brassic gracefully reached its conclusion, not due to any controversy, but simply because it had run its course naturally.
Michelle, anticipating her first child with Mark Wright, posted a video of herself and her castmates on Instagram Stories. In the caption, she clarified that the show “Brassic” hasn’t been “canceled” or “axed”.
After six amazing seasons, it’s now reaching its conclusion naturally, and we’re actively working on producing the seventh and last season at present.
“Sending love to all the Brassic fans out there.”
Following the announcement that Brassic would conclude its run, a representative from Sky stated: “Ever since Brassic debuted on our channels in 2019, it has emerged as Sky’s highest-rated comedy series.
Swiftly, spectators grew fond of this lively band of companions, as they discovered unique strategies to triumph in everyday life within the suburbs up north.
We want to express our gratitude to Joe Gilgun, Danny Brocklehurst, and the entire team – both old and new members – for providing us with an unforgettable series that has left a lasting impression. We cherished it not only for its unique blend of humor but also for its heartfelt moments.
In their initial brainstorming for the show “Brassic“, Daniel Brocklehurst (the writer and co-creator) along with Joe Gilgun never envisioned that they’d produce a total of seven seasons, nor did they anticipate cultivating such a devoted and affectionate fan community.
Creating this unique universe has been an absolute pleasure, yet as they say, all great things eventually conclude. We’re choosing to call it quits at the peak of our success. Perhaps now, we might just receive that elusive BAFTA!
In the last season, we can expect the return of both Michelle and Joe, along with Ryan Sampson, Aaron Heffernan, Joanna Higson, Parth Thakerar, and Steve Evets.
