Is there going to be a Night Agent season 3?

It’s no wonder that Netflix has approved a third season for their popular spy series, The Night Agent. The show has skyrocketed in popularity and has become a major hit on the streaming platform. In fact, it was one of the top-performing shows of 2023, and it even made it onto Netflix’s list of most-watched series ever.

The announcement for the third season was made prior to today’s release (January 23) of the second season, signaling the faith the streaming platform has in the series’ continued success.

The creator of “Night Agent” shared the news (through Tudum): “We can hardly contain our excitement as fans will be able to view season two of ‘The Night Agent’ in early 2025. We’ve been tirelessly working on writing season three to continue providing thrilling Peter Sutherland Night Action experiences for our eager viewers.

With confirmation in mind, here’s everything we know about The Night Agent season three so far.

Based on the latest updates, it’s clear that the project has commenced its production phase and is scheduled to carry on with filming in New York during the year 2025.

Besides that, all we can really do is speculate on the timeline.

Based on the release pattern of The Night Agent, we can anticipate that a new season might premiere during the early months of 2026.

Of course, as soon as we have solid news to share we’ll update this page.

Who is in the cast of The Night Agent season 3?

It’s a given fact that Gabriel Basso will undoubtedly resume his role as FBI agent Peter Sutherland in the upcoming series.

Suraj Sharma (How I Met Your Father) is also onboard in a recurring role.

It’s been officially announced that several new actors will join the main cast permanently for Season 3 of our show on Netflix. Among them are:

  • Jennifer Morrison (This Is Us)

  • Stephen Moyer (True Blood)
  • Genesis Rodriguez (Special Ops: Lioness)

What will happen in The Night Agent season 3?

A significant part of it hinges on the finale of the second season of the Netflix series. As for spoilers, I’m glad to inform you they’re still kept under wraps since the latest episodes were recently released.

The movie, an exhilarating action-thriller, is adapted from the book of the identical title penned by Matthew Quirk. It chronicles the journey of FBI Agent Sutherland who finds himself engulfed in a plot reaching the utmost echelons of the U.S. government.

Previously, Shawn Ryan’s boss clarified that each season functions independently like a self-contained tale, while recurring characters serve to connect the overall narrative.

In an interview with Deadline in 2023, the showrunner explained that when we pitched our show to Netflix, we proposed each season would primarily stand alone as a complete narrative arc, starting, developing, and concluding its own story. While future seasons might reintroduce some characters from the previous one, not all of them would be present.

Ryan noted that this had been the “original plan” and that he still felt it was “pretty solid”.

Ryan mentioned, “Rather than stretching this particular tale across five seasons, I prefer to conclude it within a single season and offer the viewers a sense of fulfillment by revealing how things end. They will discover the reality behind Peter’s father and uncover the secret conspiracy.

Without further ado, it’s possible we may not fully know where the storyline for the next season is heading until we get closer to actually filming it.

How many episodes will The Night Agent season 3 have?

An episode count for the third run of the series hasn’t been officially announced.

Since both Season 1 and Season 2 consist of 10 episodes each, it’s reasonable to assume that future seasons will also stick to this pattern.

Is there a trailer for The Night Agent season 3?
