In a recent Instagram post on Monday, actor Colin Egglesfield revealed that he’s been given a cancer diagnosis for the third time in his medical history.

51-year-old actor known for his role on All My Children shared with his followers that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He mentioned that the cancer was detected early and he has already had surgery to treat it.

Back in the past, the actor underwent two instances of testicular cancer, a fact he revealed publicly only in 2019.

At Egglesfield’s upload, there were various pictures showcasing him during his third battle with cancer, including a shot where he was grinning from a hospital bed.

In his lengthy description, Colin posted a quote which goes like this: Your fate isn’t defined by the cards you’re given, as you can’t alter them. What truly matters is how skillfully you use those cards.

He shared that he came across a quote from an interview conducted with him at age 25, which has been beneficial for him over the years, even in more recent times.

Egglesfield acknowledged that the start of this year hasn’t been straightforward, yet he remains true to his previous statement by viewing this as another chance to determine who he wants to become amidst uncertainties and difficulties following his latest cancer diagnosis.

The celebrity disclosed that ‘we detected my prostate cancer at an early stage. After spending a year conducting extensive research and consulting numerous medical experts, I chose to take action and undergo the surgical procedure.’

Afterward, Colin expressed his thanks to the City of Hope in Phoenix, which was the location for his surgery and cancer care during his third fight against the disease.

He wrote, “Dr. Gellhaus, the nurses, other doctors, and everyone else on staff who have been essential in helping me during this challenging period.

Actress from “The Client List” also shared encouraging messages and underscored the significance of regular health screenings to maintain optimal well-being.

In the year 2006, Colin received his initial diagnosis of testicular cancer just a short while after being selected to portray Joshua Madden in the popular daytime drama, All My Children.

A year after my initial cancer diagnosis, I faced another battle when I was diagnosed with testicular cancer again, prompting me to undergo surgery for its removal.

In 2019, the actor shared about his previous struggles with cancer during an interview on Fox News, looking back from that point in time.

He once said that this topic isn’t typically discussed among men, and for a long period, he felt uncomfortable bringing it up due to its deeply personal nature.

Concerning the initial symptoms he observed, the actor mentioned, ‘I found that my left testicle had become enlarged, so I visited a doctor who suggested we carry out some examinations, including an ultrasound and a blood test.’

They found out that the condition was quite progressed, then performed the surgery, only to discover that certain cancer cells had spread via the blood vessels to the kidneys.

Following his successful recovery after a second bout with cancer, the celebrity additionally dedicated time to charitable efforts at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital as a volunteer.
