Love Island Star and Comedian Team Up for Exciting MOBO Awards in Newcastle!
2025’s MOBO Awards will be hosted by Love Island alumna, Indiyah Polack, and popular comedian, Eddie Kadi.
The previous television personality, aged 26, along with Eddie, who is 41, are slated to oversee an event taking place at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle on February 18.
For the first time ever, Newcastle is set to welcome a grand celebration honoring Black music and culture, rolling out the red carpet for everyone to enjoy.
The first round of artists performing at the upcoming event includes Dancehall Queen Spice, British rap group Krept and Konan, and versatile artist Bashy. Additional stars will be revealed shortly.
On February 18th at 8 pm Greenwich Mean Time, the 2025 MOBO Awards will be live-streamed worldwide on YouTube. Additionally, a special BBC One broadcast of the event will air on February 21st.
Eddie actively promotes African music, regularly presenting The UK Afrobeats Chart Show on BBC Radio 1Xtra and has even joined tours with artists such as Wizkid, Lauryn Hill, and Burna Boy.
At the 2021 MOBO Awards held in Coventry, he assumed his initial hosting position, wandering alongside Munya Chawawa and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
From that point forward, he has climbed the ladder of success in the UK television industry, amassing a considerable body of work. This includes his participation as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in the year 2023.
Since then, he’s earned notable recognition with nominations such as the Best Breakthrough Award at the Royal Television Society and the Best Newcomer Award in Presenting at the Edinburgh TV Awards.
Meanwhile Indiyah returns for her second year to co-host the MOBO Awards.
Besides taking up the role of a presenter at Capital Xtra, she has also been part of the panel for the past two seasons of Love Island Aftersun, sharing the spotlight with Sam Thompson and Maya Jama. Furthermore, she is in charge of hosting the Love Island podcast titled “The Morning After.
After hearing the news, Eddie expressed: “The MOBO Awards play a significant role in shaping British music culture, and I feel privileged to have been invited to co-host this year’s event alongside Indiyah.
The MOBO Awards will feature a diverse array of extraordinary artists, spanning genres such as hip hop, dancehall, and more, with some exciting surprises in store!

On this coming Friday, 21st February, BBC One is set to broadcast a unique backstage special, granting viewers an all-encompassing look into the event.
Before the Awards Ceremony, The MOBO Fringe events are scheduled to happen at various venues in Newcastle from February 13th to February 17th.
The event will feature live shows, hands-on workshops, professional gatherings, and grassroots activities that aim to create an enduring impact on our local area.
In 2025, the MOBO Awards nominations span more than twenty categories, and this year, the vibrant British R&B music industry is at the forefront, with three-time nominees Jorja Smith and Cleo Sol spearheading the movement.
