Dianne Buswell Breaks Down Over Chris McCausland Missing Strictly Tour
Dianne Buswell has finally spoken out about Chris McCausland not being present for the live tour of the show, which began in Birmingham earlier this week.
35-year-old dancer and 47-year-old comedian created a historic moment by claiming victory as the first visually impaired competitor of the esteemed Glitterball Trophy.
In her latest YouTube video blog, Dianne openly shared that dancing again without her ex-partner was extremely challenging, given his extensive 250-date stand-up tour schedule had prevented him from participating in the shows for quite some time.
She expressed: “It’s hard on me because Chris isn’t able to join us on the tour. Seeing everyone else with their companions, while knowing Chris can’t participate, has been a real struggle for me.
While I was initially apprehensive, I’m now thrilled to continue being involved, and I can’t help but feel incredibly thankful for this opportunity. In essence, I consider myself quite fortunate in this situation.
The performance began at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena, with Chris making his appearance on stage, which was located approximately 12 miles away in Walsall.
In December, the comedy actor made it clear to his followers that he wouldn’t be dancing with Dianne again next time around.
He shared that he regrettably won’t make it for the Strictly tour as his own tour had initially been scheduled for September, with several performances rescheduled to January and February to allow him to participate in Strictly.
‘It’s unfortunate as it’s been so much fun, but my own dates can’t be moved for a second time.’
Although Chris didn’t get to catch up with his Strictly friends, he was clearly enjoying himself while performing at the Walsall Arena.
Dressed smartly in a grey suit and a crisp white T-shirt, the comedian seemed to be enjoying himself immensely during the ongoing tour. The event was moved forward from its original September date to ensure it wouldn’t conflict with his busy schedule on Strictly Come Dancing.
Following the news, Chris secured a thrilling new position after his meteoric rise to fame and capturing the nation’s affection during the BBC dance competition last month.
A well-known comedian is set to be part of the lineup for Comedy Central Live’s four-episode special, which will premiere on Comedy Central UK starting in early 2025, with each episode airing weekly.
He’s scheduled to appear with notable acts such as Judi Love, Amy Matthews, Kane Brown, Ola Labib, Jack Skipper, Amy Gledhill, and Joshua Bethania on the much-loved television program.
Additionally, the upcoming series includes an extra 30 digital episodes, which will be shared across our social media platforms, allowing each act to showcase their unique performances independently.
Last month, it was reported that Chris, who is visually impaired, had a substantial contract offer waiting for him to continue working with the BBC. His humor is said to resonate strongly with everyday viewers at home.
According to a source close to the TV industry, this contestant on ‘Strictly’ consistently kept everyone entertained, and it wasn’t only his humor that was amusing, but also his classic sense of wit that resonated with regular viewers at home.
In many BBC comedy series, there has been a criticism of a certain aspect being missing. However, introducing Chris to this field might bring freshness to a genre that used to be one of the BBC’s main strengths.
Previously, it was mentioned that Chris’ skills might be beneficial for a broader range of entertainment programs. Moreover, the management is considering bringing Chris back together with his former dance partner Dianne to rekindle their exceptional on-stage chemistry.
Chris isn’t limited to comedy shows; he can also appear in broader entertainment programs. For instance, this year alone, he hosted The Chris McCausland Show on ITV1.
The source mentioned: ‘There’s talk about bringing him back together with dance partner Dianne [Buswell], as their on-stage connection was truly electrifying.’
On December 14, the popular dance competition’s prestigious Glitterball Trophy was hoisted by the victorious duo, the Liverpool-born celeb and Dianne, following audience votes declaring them champions of the widely-acclaimed TV series.
During his time on Strictly, Chris not only became the first visually impaired contestant in the show’s history, but also won over executives with his charming humor, which reportedly played a significant role in revitalizing the popular competition after a series of controversies.
Additionally, he spoke out on Channel 4’s Alternative Christmas Day Message, urging for an elimination of discrimination towards individuals with disabilities, as well as advocating for employers and the government to facilitate their entry into the job market.
