Chris McCausland & Dianne Buswell Reunite for Stand-Up Comedy, Leave Strictly Tour Alone

On Friday evening, Chris McCausland kicked off his Yonks! stand-up tour for the first time at a venue in Walsall.

The comedian, aged 47, gleamed with joy while sharing humor with the audience as he initiated his extensive UK and Ireland tour spanning more than 250 performances, which will keep him busy until at least 2026.

Simultaneously, approximately 12 miles from Birmingham, Dianne Buswell, Chris’ professional partner and a previous Strictly Come Dancing champion, was gracefully performing at the launch event for the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.

35-year-old dancer captivated everyone in a shimmering minidress while performing alongside her colleagues at Utilita Arena during the inaugural live show, with the breathtaking tour continuing from there.

Chris’ absence from the Strictly tour marks the first time a winner of the show has not taken part.

In December, Chris achieved a remarkable feat as the inaugural visually impaired winner of the esteemed Glitterball Trophy on Strictly Come Dancing.

In December, the comedy actor made it clear to his supporters that he wouldn’t be dancing with Dianne again, as he had previously stated.

He clarified that he won’t make it for the Strictly tour as his own tour was initially scheduled for September, but many dates had been rescheduled to January and February to allow him to participate in Strictly Come Dancing.

‘It’s unfortunate as it’s been so much fun, but my own dates can’t be moved for a second time.’

Although he missed the chance to catch up with his Strictly friends, Chris appeared right at home as he put on a show at the Walsall Arena.

Wearing a smart grey suit paired with a crisp white t-shirt, the comedian seemed to enjoy himself immensely while proceeding with the tour that was initially postponed from September, to ensure it didn’t conflict with his commitment on Strictly Come Dancing.

Following his recent triumph in the BBC dance competition, where he captured the nation’s affection, Chris secured a thrilling new job opportunity that will follow shortly.

A well-known comedian is set to be part of the lineup for Comedy Central Live’s four-episode comedy special airing weekly on Comedy Central UK starting early in 2025. This stand-up series will feature the comedian and three others.

He will be appearing on stage with well-known performers such as Judi Love, Amy Matthews, Kane Brown, Ola Labib, Jack Skipper, Amy Gledhill, and Joshua Bethania in a popular TV program cherished by fans.

The upcoming series includes an extra 30 digital episodes, which will be shared across our social media platforms, allowing each act to showcase their unique performances individually.

Previously, there were reports stating that Chris, being visually impaired, was offered a significant contract extension by the BBC due to his humor resonating well with typical home viewers.

According to a source close to the TV industry, this contestant on “Strictly” consistently made everyone laugh, and it wasn’t just his wit that stood out – he also demonstrated a classic sense of humor that resonated with regular viewers at home.

Critics often point out that there’s a lack of freshness in many BBC comedy series, but Chris has the potential to inject new vigor into a genre that once thrived for the corporation.

Previously, it was mentioned that Chris’ skills might be beneficial for a broader range of entertainment programs. Moreover, the management is considering bringing Chris back together with his former dance partner, Dianne, in an attempt to revive their extraordinary synergy.

Additionally, Chris isn’t limited to comedy series; he can also participate in broader entertainment programming. For instance, recently, he hosted a talk show on ITV1 named “The Chris McCausland Show.

The source added: “They’re exploring options for him to be back with his dance partner Dianne [Buswell], given their incredible connection on the dance floor.

On a truly magical night, December 14, I, an overjoyed fan, found myself cheering alongside millions as my beloved Liverpool-born star, hand in hand with Dianne, triumphantly hoisted aloft the cherished Glitterball Trophy. This momentous victory was bestowed upon them by none other than the collective voice of viewers, who had cast their votes in favor of the winners of that sensational TV show!

During his time on Strictly, Chris not only became the first-ever blind participant in the show’s history, but he also won over the bosses with his charming sense of humor. It’s been suggested that this wit played a crucial role in reviving the glamorous competition after a period of scandals.

Additionally, he spoke out on Channel 4’s Alternative Christmas Day broadcast on December 25th, urging an end to the marginalization of individuals with disabilities, and advocating for both employers and the government to facilitate equal job opportunities for them.
