Caprice’s Regret: From Baywatch to Family Christmas Movies and Trump Obsession!
In one quiet nook of a bookshop tucked away in Perthshire, temporarily shuttered for film production, the ex-supermodel Caprice Bourret takes a moment to unwind. The events of the morning have certainly taken their toll.
The 53-year-old Californian, featured prominently throughout the movie filmed across 14 days in multiple Highland settings, expressed his surprise and confusion about the situation he found himself in, saying, ‘I was completely unprepared for what lay ahead.’
As a dedicated fanatic, it’s not just about getting things done; it’s about orchestrating an entire spectacle. I’m not only responsible for executing this masterpiece, but I’ve also taken on the role of producer. Ensuring that each and every actor is present, I’m like a conductor coordinating a symphony. Booking all the necessary transportation, be it trains or planes, has become my personal quest. The location setup for tomorrow is another challenge I must conquer, ensuring that everything is ready to go. Lastly, procuring all the props and ensuring they’re in place adds an extra layer of responsibility to my role. It’s a grand task, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
What makes it land on her shoulders now is that she declined the leading role in Baywatch about thirty years back.
One of the world’s most frequently-photographed women expresses her frustration, saying something like, “What a foolish thing!” while sharing her thoughts in the travel section of the Aberfeldy Watermill bookstore.
In this quiet town, everyday life continues undisturbed. However, few realize that the local shop they frequent is now under new ownership – a world-famous personality who often wonders about the choices she made, choosing fame over an easier path in acting.
She reflects on ‘Baywatch’, saying, “I guess I got caught up in my own fame and overestimated myself.” Later, she admits, “Looking back now, I often wonder, ‘What was I thinking?’
Well, I offer, surely no one could have guessed how huge the American series would become.
She clarifies, ‘No, it wasn’t any larger; it had been that size all along.’ Turns out, she landed the main role following Pamela Anderson’s departure from the production.
Reflecting on it now, I realize how foolish that choice was of mine. In hindsight, it could have been an excellent opportunity for me to enter the U.S., but at the time, I didn’t want to be pigeonholed.
I can’t help but wonder what path my beloved Caprice might have taken if she hadn’t stood firm against those film and television producers, insisting on breaking free from being typecast as ‘the beauty’ in every script they tossed her way.
Without a doubt, it’s unlikely that the film is being produced in Aberfeldy on a shoestring budget for Christmas, taking only two weeks to shoot. The lead actress has taken on the responsibility of calculating expenses, hiring the crew, and even organizing catering, all while treating each penny as if it were a captive.
Instead of becoming disoriented in the snow around Aviemore while searching for a Costa Coffee, she decided to wait for a ride back to her hotel after stepping out for a facial appointment.
Nevertheless, she firmly believes that the path she’s chosen is correct. At last, she’s broken into the film industry – creating movies under her own control and direction.
Behind the glossy magazine covers and the title of the world’s most seductive woman, this business-savvy individual is defined by these crucial terms.
In my twenties, I was the talk of ‘lads’ magazines, but I was cognizant of the expiration date on a modeling career. Instead, during my thirties, I found myself immersed in the world of entrepreneurship, nurturing and growing my own lingerie brand.
Finding a model for the delicate undergarments proved effortless. Even after two decades, she continues to grace the runway showcasing the latest collections from Loved By Caprice.
Since the 1990s, she has been residing in London and steadily expanded her real estate holdings, branched out into home goods, and cultivated her public persona across various reality TV series on both British and American networks.
But, finding their modus operandi increasingly ‘toxic’, she moved away from them.
Leaving behind dreams of acting that remained unrealized, feelings of disappointment due to persistent typecasting, and the recurring experiences of not even getting called for auditions.
Very well, I’ve made up my mind: ‘Should nobody extend an opportunity to me, I’ll create one for myself. I’m putting my trust in myself.’
Stepping into the quaint bookstore of Aberfeldy, I found myself face-to-face with an actress and producer who’s graced the silver screen for three consecutive years. With a glimmer in her eyes that spoke volumes of her passion, she shared with me the reasons behind her latest creation – a heartwarming Christmas film whose climax audiences would be able to anticipate from a distance.
She expresses her sentiment by saying, “There’s just too much negativity everywhere, and I’m really exhausted by it. The news leaves me feeling down, it’s disheartening, and the constant reality shows, I simply find them detrimental. That’s why I desired to create Christmas films.
‘Though everyone is aware of their predictable conclusions, these films still manage to uplift us. Unlike other experiences that might leave you feeling grimy and in need of washing up, these movies provide a sense of contentment.’
There’s no negative energy or explicit romantic scenes to be found in our ongoing project, titled “A Scottish Christmas Secret”.
The ex-magazine cover model adds, “That brings me to another point.” She’s well-known for her revealing outfits from the past. “These holiday films,” she remarks, “are incredibly heartwarming. I need to watch my wardrobe choices carefully since they’re all about family values. There’s no suggestive content like cleavage, alcohol, foul language, or risqué scenes. It’s a clean and wholesome experience.
In her explanation, it was revealed that Scotland served as an unexpected setting for this wholesome, cheerful holiday romantic comedy. She attributes this to the presence of snow, pointing out that such a genre typically includes snowy landscapes.
‘My whole thing is I need snow, and I don’t want to make it, I want it to be there.’
She investigated to find the snowiest location within the United Kingdom, eventually discovering it was the Cairngorms and the village of Aviemore. To ensure a captivating bookstore scene, she searched online for attractive bookshops in Scotland and uncovered a gem in Aberfeldy, which later proved to be perfect for filming.
John Argo, joint proprietor of the Watermill bookstore and café, confessed that he initially believed his friends were pulling a trick on him when he received a phone call from someone purporting to be Caprice, inquiring if they could transform the location into a film set for a day.
However, some time had passed, and there she was, swiftly shooting various scenes alongside her American counterpart, Alex Trumble. The usual patrons of the café were puzzled as they wondered why their favorite spot was unexpectedly shut down on this particular day.
To Caprice, the locals of Aviemore were remarkably friendly towards her, a city dweller, that it made her question if they might be pulling a prank. “It’s just not typical,” she notes. “It’s almost too good to be true. The kindness here feels like a step back in time, around 50 years.
She shared her recent mishap, involving an incident a few days back when filming outdoor scenes in -12C weather resulted in her face becoming flaky. Later, she booked a facial in Aviemore and then headed towards a café, about five minutes away, that someone had recommended, to wait for a crew member to give her a lift.
Transitioning to a shot of me continuing to walk, feeling alarmingly cold. Suddenly, I thought, “Oh my goodness, I might develop hypothermia.” I found myself completely isolated, right smack in the heart of nowhere.
Then, a duo arrived accompanied by their pet, and inquired, “You seem quite familiar; does your name begin with C?” To which I replied, “Indeed, Caprice.” They then asked, “What brings you here?”, to which I admitted my confusion. “Please join us at our home for a cup of coffee,” they invited, and I agreed, saying, “Why not?
‘They probably saved my life,’ she laughs.
‘You wouldn’t do that in London. This does not happen elsewhere, but they were so sweet.’
In her present position, Tiffany Bennett is co-owner, alongside her sister Sophie (portrayed by Patsy Kensit), of a publishing business.
One of their prominent writers, Nathan McAllister – a Scottish resident of Los Angeles – has vanished without a trace following his inability to meet the deadline for the much-awaited third installment in a successful trilogy series.
As it happens, he’s back in his hometown Highlands, struggling with his writing and considering abandoning his profession altogether – that’s when Tiffany is sent to encourage him to complete the third book. Not surprisingly, they develop feelings for each other.
Absolutely! It’s a film that captures the holiday spirit with romantic elements, but don’t expect a straightforward plot. There are unexpected surprises along the way, making it an engaging watch. I suggest you discover these twists and turns for yourself!
It’s interesting to discover that behind the woman who gained popularity long ago, fueled mainly by male fantasies, lies a tender, somewhat ascetic aspect.
She’s had her fair share of dating celebrities, including Rod Stewart who is now an ex, and she has been widely recognized by tabloids using terms like ‘the hottest blonde on Earth’. However, these days, there seems to be a growing distaste towards the superficiality and cynicism that characterizes show business.
Despite having starred in multiple reality TV series, including Celebrity Big Brother in 2005, she is highly critical of the genre.
I appeared on the American television show ‘Ladies of London’ broadcast on Broadway, but it was full of manufactured drama and underhanded manipulation. Instead of uplifting each other, they would tear women down by gossiping and betraying confidences. It was disheartening to be part of something so distasteful and exploitative, as I believe in empowering women, not degrading them or causing harm. In essence, it was a very unhealthy and unsavory environment.
As a mother of two lively 11-year-olds, Jax and Jett, alongside my film producer husband Ty Comfort, I firmly stand against allowing them to watch shows like “I’m A Celebrity”. To me, it seems like they’re being made to act foolishly and consume unsavory food items. It’s not pleasant. Neither do I indulge in watching such content, and I ensure my boys don’t either. I disapprove of people attempting to belittle or humiliate others in any way.
I’ve taken care of things on my own, but it didn’t bring me satisfaction. I acknowledge that I was the one who allowed myself to get into this situation, and unfortunately, I let it happen.
Instead of her radiating joy, Christmas makes her absolutely gleeful. “Wow, we had nearly a dozen Christmas trees at my place! I’m completely smitten. By the time November rolls around, I’ve already started playing Christmas music and decorating. My kids think I’m bonkers, but secretly they enjoy it too.
I wish we could celebrate Christmas for about three months a year. Nowadays, I also include watching Christmas movies in that timeframe.
Approximately half the year, it seems, due to the extensive post-production work for this movie keeping her busy until summer. One might wonder if her dedication borders on being a workaholic.
‘A bit? Are you taking the p***? Is this a trick question?’
This wealthy individual owns several properties, such as one in London’s Notting Hill and another in Ibiza. Couldn’t she think about taking a break for a few months?
My child asked me recently if I could focus solely on being a mother and learning to cook after a production. However, my cooking skills leave much to be desired, as our meals are often less than appetizing. Despite my best efforts, I can’t seem to improve. So, in response to my child’s request, I’ve decided to take a month off to learn how to cook properly.
So, will we be watching heartwarming Christmas movies with snowy scenes to get us through the rest of the season? She ponders this thought for a while.
She expresses her long-standing desire for creating horror, specifically the genre of slashers, filled with violence and gore. Summarizing her thoughts, she says with a chuckle, “From holiday cheer to blood and guts is my plan.
‘That is my dream too, I love that and obviously it’s very commercial. They sell.’
Although her past country might hold significance for her filmmaking aspirations in the future, she unequivocally states that she has no intention of residing there again. Instead, she expresses a deep affection for Europe and the United Kingdom.
Discussion about the U.S. often brings up the topic of the upcoming president. Does she seem to be a supporter? ‘I’m completely captivated!’ she admits, leaving her feelings ambiguous. However, she adds that she plans to visit Mar-a-Lago and even mentions meeting Trump this year.
It sounds like she’s on their side, yes? To clarify, are you asking if the person believes the world has thrived and is heading in the right direction under the leadership of Biden/Harris? Not at all.
Was her right to vote ever questioned? (In this case, I exercised my right to vote as an American citizen, and I’ve been open about the candidate I supported.)
‘I prioritize the well-being of America and the global community over personal opinions. I believe we have been making a mistake, and this error is causing great alarm. Therefore, it’s crucial that we make significant changes to get back on track.’
As I wrap up my lunch break on the vibrant set of A Scottish Christmas Secret, it’s time for a swift snapshot with the charming Caprice. With her million-dollar grin aimed at the camera, she gracefully wraps one arm around my shoulders and another across my chest, creating a moment that feels like more than just a scene.
‘Thank-you,’ I say warmly.
‘Thank-YOU for thanking me.’
It’s been a lunchtime.
