On January 21, 2025, American audiences can stream the movie directly. For our friends across the pond in the UK, there might be a delay until May, as has been the case with previous Paramount releases.

You can also reserve a copy of it on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD before its UK launch on March 3. On that very day, the 4K Steelbook version will become available as well.

Gladiator 2 currently holds a 71% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes from 379 reviews.
In their three-star review, Digital Spy noted that the sequel seems heavily dependent on nostalgia for the original “Gladiator”. This is evident from the opening credits that resemble recaps, frequent flashbacks, repeated phrases and items like Maximus’ armor and Marcus Aurelius’ ring, as well as strategic use of Hans Zimmer’s famous soundtrack.
The film seems to have little faith that viewers will embrace a fresh narrative and cast, suggesting they can only connect with this new content by relying on familiar elements from the past.
