Kelly Clarkson’s Cover Slays Original, Fans Demand More!
Kelly Clarkson showed off her singing chops on Thursday’s episode of her self-titled talk show.
42-year-old Kelly Clarkson, who won American Idol in 2002 and whose son Remy has recently become internet famous, delivered a stunning performance of Chappell Roan’s Red Wine Supernova during her ‘Kellyoke’ segment, leaving fans amazed.
Following an impeccable rendition, people took to the internet to concur that Clarkson’s playful, upbeat pop tune stole the show compared to its original counterpart.
On social media app X, someone posted, ‘It’s not right for others to perform her versions of their songs since she always devours them so thoroughly.’
Another chimed in, “If I were an artist, my one condition would be that Kelly Clarkson should never be permitted to perform covers of my songs.
The person added, ‘She’s too f*****g amazing and kills it every time.’

Another fan posted online, ‘I’ve been eagerly waiting for her to perform Billie Eilish’s The Greatest or Wildflower. I truly believe she could bring these songs to life with her powerful vocals.’
In September of last year, Kelly made quite an impact when she teamed up with Miranda Lambert and guitarist Jaco Caraco to perform a bare-bones acoustic rendition of Chappell’s “Good Luck, Babe!”.
Currently, Instagram user @crispy205 expressed: “I wish for a radio station that plays only Kelly’s versions of the songs, rather than the originals!” (laugh out loud)
‘We need a Chappell duet with Kelly!’ another user demanded.
In the meantime, JohnGymnast commented: “Once more, Kelly demonstrates that she has the finest voice in the cosmos! She smashed it not just once, but every single time.
‘Someone said that it sounds fantastic, especially with Kelly’s exceptional singing and Miranda’s deep voice. Wow!’
‘Kelly Clarkson continues to demonstrate why she is one of the best singers ever, and we can’t help but express our admiration for her. Keep shining!’
The individual stated, “I now comprehend the meaning! Previously, I was puzzled by what the woman was expressing. However, they sing it in a way that makes understanding easier.

In an interview with Flood Magazine in May 2023, Roan shared that the inspiration behind Red Wine Supernova was her desire to create a playful, gay-themed song that encapsulated the enchantment of falling in love with another woman.
The artist-composer pointed out that he filled the song with lively, suggestive lyrics, giving it a vibe reminiscent of a night spent flirtatiously engaging with a woman at a bar.
Hailing from Missouri, she’s earned six 2025 Grammy nominations, including a Best New Artist nod.
The Midwest Princess album is also up for consideration in both categories, Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
Wow, I can hardly contain my excitement! It’s mind-blowing to hear that “Good Luck, Babe!” has been shortlisted for not just one, but three prestigious categories: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance. Fingers crossed, my idol! Here’s hoping for a triumphant night at the awards show. Keep shining, babe! 🌟
