Fans are gushing over The Punisher’s One Last Kill look
The first images of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle in The Punisher: One Last Kill are now available, and fans on X are loving them. Many are describing Frank as intensely chaotic and incredibly cool, with several users praising his badass appearance in the new footage.
The special will debut on Disney+ on May 12, 2026, the same day as the finale of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. A short preview of the special was included at the end of the most recent trailer for Born Again Season 2.
Reinaldo Marcus Green directed this project, and Jon Bernthal not only stars in it but also helped write the script. Robert Elswit, the Academy Award-winning cinematographer behind ‘There Will Be Blood,’ handled the visuals. Brad Winderbaum, an executive producer, has called the final product a beautifully made and powerfully acted piece.
Jon Bernthal not only starred in the special but also helped write it, sharing his own ideas for how the character should be portrayed. He explained to Collider that he feels a deep connection to the character, stating, “Frank is in my bones, is in my heart. I care about him.” The creators were receptive to his vision and encouraged him to continue contributing.
This installment of the series centers on Frank Castle’s journey to find purpose beyond his quest for revenge, but a surprising event forces him back into the life he was trying to leave behind. Jon Bernthal worked closely with veterans while making the show, and praised a friend named Nick for being particularly helpful. He expressed his gratitude and excitement about the team they’ve built, calling them an amazing group of people.
One user on X also argued the project “should have been a theatrical film.”
Jon Bernthal, Victoria Green, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, and Sana Amanat were the executive producers of the special, and Trevor Waterson helped as a co-executive producer.
