Conan trailer opens the Barbarian era in Mortal Kombat 1
In a Kombat Kast stream, creators of MK1 share insights about the upcoming DLC character, Conan the Barbarian, with the community.
As the launch date of MK1 Conan nears, gamers are growing increasingly excited to learn more details about the Barbarian, particularly his in-game characteristics. On January 16th, NetherRealm Studios will unveil the inaugural trailer featuring the character, offering a sneak peek into the gameplay aspects of the Barbarian.

As per the creators, the trailer is featured on the Kombat Kast television show. This will be their initial broadcast for the year 2025.
The Conan Kombat Kast MK1 is broadcast live on the official Twitch platform belonging to NetherRealm Studios. It’s also likely that a recording of this event will be available later on the Mortal Kombat YouTube channel.

DLC characters in MK1 Khaos Reigns
In the continuation, Conan the Barbarian has been added as a character in downloadable content (DLC) for Mortal Kombat 1. This addition falls under the Khaos Reigns expansion pack.
- Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, and Ghostface are already out.
- T1000 from Terminator concludes the DLC packages, and this character comes later.
When is the MK1 Conan release date?
For those who own the MK1: Khaos Reigns expansion, the launch date for Conan the Barbarian is set for January 21st. On January 28th, Conan will be available separately as an individual character.

The future of Mortal Kombat 1
For some time now, there’s been chatter in the fighting game community (FGC) about potential cancellations regarding the upcoming DLC pack, known as Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack 3. The buzz is that people are discussing this matter.
Although the information hasn’t been verified nor contradicted, the beginning of 2025 looks quite promising for MK1 gamers. The official trailer hints at 10 tournaments being included in the second season of the Professional Competition.
It’s exciting to know that Mortal Kombat 1 has been included in the main schedule for Evo 2025, which suggests a promising outlook for the game’s competitive scene. At least, it seems like the esports future of this game is thriving.
Conan the Barbarian will be released prior to Frosty Faustings XVII, taking place from January 23rd to 26th. It seems unlikely that he’ll participate in this event. Nevertheless, keep an eye out for MK1 Conan at various other tournaments. The first Pro Kompetition tournament is scheduled for February 22nd to 23rd.
