The second season of the anime series concluded in December 2020, and since Atsushi Ohkubo’s original manga ended in 2022, fans are even more eager to witness the remaining escapades of Company 8 being animated – especially now that we know its release date.
So, here’s what we know about Fire Force season three.

We now have not just one, but two scheduled release dates for the third season of Fire Force, as it was officially announced during the industry panel at Crunchyroll’s Anime Expo 2024 that this season will be divided into two parts (split-cour).
Season three of the anime is set to debut in April 2025, with the remaining episodes following in January 2026. Hang in there as we’ll have to wait a while until we find out how it all ends, since this will be the last season for this series.
Additionally, it’s been shared that the series will resume streaming on Crunchyroll upon its return. This is undoubtedly great news for fans of the show residing beyond Japan.

Fire Force season 3 plot: What will happen in Fire Force season 3?
So far, the “Fire Force” anime has remained true to Atsushi Ohkubo’s manga, suggesting that we can anticipate the events of season three based on this faithful adaptation.
Initially, we anticipate that this upcoming chapter will wrap up the Stigma storyline, which ended inconclusively in season two, and introduce the significant clash between Shinra and his fellow Fire Force team members against the leaders of the White-Clad.
In this part of the narrative, we find ourselves delving into an episode titled “Captain Obi’s Liberation”. Here, the valiant team from Unit 8 engage in a challenging struggle, not against external foes, but internally, as they strive to free Captain Obi from imprisonment within their very own organizations.
If you’re seeking a bit more guidance, I recommend checking out the trailer as well. It gives a small sneak peek into what’s coming up in the next season.
The trailer strongly hints that the worlds of Soul Eater and Adolla are connected, as they both appear to have the same moon. Fans can expect answers to longstanding questions about The Evangelist’s enigmatic past and the origins of the White-Clad organization from this upcoming content.
Fire Force seasons one and two encompassed approximately 65% of the initial manga content, spanning across twenty tankōbon volumes. As of February 2022, the story reached chapter 304, hinting that season three could potentially be its final installment.
Despite the TV series being almost identical to the manga now, it’s a good idea to delve into one of the books as we anticipate the next season. Supporting Okubo, who is quite inspiring when discussing his creative process (as shared on AnimeGeek), is definitely worthwhile.
He mentioned that the everyday heroes among us are our local firefighters. He feels they embody heroism more than anyone else, which is why he aimed to craft a comic book (manga) that shines a light on them.
In a fictional realm, wouldn’t fires still occur? So, it’s essential to have firefighters in such a world. They would combat fires using their unique magical abilities.
In addition, Okubo acknowledges the impact that films have had on his art, particularly singling out directors such as Tim Burton and David Lynch.
In a chat with MyAnimeList, he expressed that his preferred manga was none other than Dr Slump, a title he’s revisited numerous times. Interestingly, his narrative styles and character creations were inspired less by manga and more by films. He has a soft spot for the works of David Lynch and horror movies in general.
During the creation process of Soul Eater, Tim Burton’s films played a significant role as inspiration. However, when it comes to Fire Force, it’s challenging to pinpoint specific influences. Perhaps it was the steampunk genre as a whole that had an impact, with movies such as The City of Lost Children serving as potential sources of inspiration.
Fire Force season 3 trailer: Any Fire Force season 3 footage yet?
The trailer for season three of “Fire Force” has been released, and as previously mentioned, it suggests some exciting revelations that will unfold during the new season.
The trailer that was initially unveiled (and is available for viewing at the top of this page) was presented during Crunchyroll’s major industry panel at the Anime Expo 2024.
In the third season, Tokyo is ablaze with an enigmatic illness causing random people to burst into flames, spreading chaos throughout the metropolis.
Step into the world of Fire Force, where Shinra has joined Company 8 and is determined to rescue the city from destruction, all while guarding his personal mysteries.
As I watched the latest trailer, I couldn’t help but notice a captivating symbol – a crescent moon with an eerie grin. Some dedicated manga enthusiasts have speculated that this might hint at connections beyond just the current show, perhaps even linking back to Atsushi Ohkubo’s earlier masterpiece, Soul Eater.
Fire Force seasons 1 and 2 are available to watch on Crunchyroll.
