Wendy Williams Breaks Silence on Guardianships: You Won’t Believe What She Reveals!
Wendy Williams is getting ready for a seldom-seen public talk on a significant subject, slated for The Breakfast Club discussion.
On this coming Thursday’s radio broadcast at dawn, the popular TV figure (aged 60) will delve into topics concerning conservatorships and guardianships.
Charlemagne Tha God, one of the hosts on the radio program, announced that she will join them for a discussion about her personal encounter with conservatorships. This comes after being placed under such an arrangement in the year 2022.
This year, it became known that Williams, who had disagreements with his caregivers not long ago and was observed in a heated dispute with them, has been diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia and Aphasia.
Because of her diagnosis, she was declared ‘permanently incapacitated’ by her guardian.
In Charlamagne tha God’s Instagram post, he wrote a caption highlighting that these systems are intended to maintain respect and self-worth, rather than exert power or domination.
In a post, the talk show host stated that conservatorships and guardianships ought to be designed to bolster, safeguard, and aid individuals – not to restrict them within unseen jails.
Tomorrow on @breakfastclubam with Wendy Williams, we’ll be reminded about how these systems should be open, caring, and aimed at upholding dignity rather than power. Let’s have a chat about it.
The interview took place several weeks following the time when Williams, seldom seen in public, made an exception last month to attend a special event in support of her family.
She was seen celebrating the graduation of her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., from Florida International University.
Her outing came just weeks after she was declared ‘permanently incapacitated’ by her guardian.
In a court filing made by Sabrina Morissey in November 2024, it was stated that Williams had become ‘mentally handicapped and irreversibly disabled’ following a diagnosis of early-onset dementia.
She has been under a legal guardianship since 2022.
Previously this year, it was reported by a family source to People magazine that they have had limited or restricted access to her, as suggested by her guardian.
The insider said her family is ‘rooting’ for her amid the court-ordered guardianship.
According to the source, Wendy Williams’ family is currently restricted from discussing her present state and whereabouts as a result of ongoing legal matters, and they’ve been kept away from her mostly.
However, everyone is sending positive vibes and offering their heartfelt congratulations as Wendy marks her 60th birthday.
The insider added: ‘She was, is and always will be an icon.’
