2025’s Evo remains the premier annual fighting game esports event, boasting a unique atmosphere at Evo Japan, harkening back to the genre’s roots. Newcomer Evo France 2025 marks its debut in the series. However, nothing quite matches the grandeur of Evo Las Vegas!

Eight fighting games in the Evo 2025 lineup

2025’s Evolution Championship Series, often referred to as Evo 2025, showcases a total of eight different combat-style video games.

  • Guilty Gear Strive

  • Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

  • Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Extended lineup

The fighting games community (FGC) eagerly anticipates such gatherings to play their beloved titles, and the Evo organizers graciously provide this platform through various side events.

For now, these games in the extended lineup for Evo 2025 have been confirmed.

Expected titles and a surprise

  • TEKKEN 8: The TEKKEN World Tour 2024 is over, and TWT 2025 has been officially announced. Evo 2025 absolutely must be a Master event.
  • Guilty Gear Strive: The title is part of the Arc World Tour 2024, and the situation shouldn’t change next year. The fate of GBVSR and UNI2 is not so certain, as these games are made with partners of Arc System Works.
  • Mortal Kombat 1: Pro Kompetition Season 2 starts in Feb. 2025, and we can expect Evo 2025 MK1 to be included in the series. That wasn’t the case in 2024, though.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves — The new title. Must have!

This new game from SNK, a highly anticipated continuation of their iconic series, is something everyone has been eagerly waiting for. It was widely expected that Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves would be featured at Evo 2025, and it’s incredibly gratifying to see that expectation fulfilled.

The game, City of the Wolves: Fatal Fury, hasn’t been released yet, but the excitement surrounding it is definitely palpable, as several exciting characters have already been confirmed to be part of it.

Regarding esports, the title we’re discussing could be included in the SNK World Championship 2026 event, possibly alongside KOF XV (King of Fighters XV).

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 — Wazzler time

At Evo 2024, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike was a common pick among titles. However, for the upcoming event, it’ll be Marvel vs. Capcom 2 that takes its place in the lineup.
