Singer Linda Nolan dies aged 65
Singer Linda Nolan has sadly passed away at the age of 65.
Linda, known for her popularity as part of the sisterly band The Nolans alongside Coleen, Maureen, Bernie, Denise, and Anne, was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. This disease recurred in 2017, subsequently spreading to her brain, liver, and bones.
Based on reports from Sky News, it was stated by the star’s representative, Dermot McNamara, that Linda passed away tranquilly this morning, surrounded by her cherished family members who were with her.
In a statement, it was noted that her unique vocal style and captivating on-stage charm spread happiness across global audiences, solidifying her status as a legendary figure in both British and Irish showbiz.
Beyond an impressive professional journey, Linda made it her mission in life to aid others. She successfully raised more than £20 million for various charities such as Breast Cancer Now, Irish Cancer Society, and Samaritans, among many others. Her unwavering generosity and relentless efforts towards improving the lives of those around her will continue to be a defining aspect of her lasting impact.
McNamara went on to say: “She slipped away serenely, surrounded by her caring brothers and sisters, so that she felt enveloped in love and tranquility as her last moments unfolded.
Linda left a lasting impact that transcends her remarkable accomplishments in the music and entertainment industry. She served as an inspiring symbol of hope and tenacity, using her story to educate and encourage others.
A message was likewise posted on The Nolan’s X platform where it was stated that she battled an incurable cancer with bravery, elegance, and resilience.
By August 2024, Linda had verified that she was receiving a novel type of therapy due to the advancement of her cancer.
A while after that, Linda’s sister, Coleen Nolan, revealed that Linda was still undergoing treatment. She expressed daily admiration for Linda.
In 2013, their sister Bernie lost her life to cancer, whereas Anne received a breast cancer diagnosis in 2000, which resurfaced in 2020. However, in the very same year of 2020, Anne declared that she was now cancer-free.
2023 saw Coleen disclose that she was diagnosed with skin cancer. However, she later reassured her followers that she would recover following her treatment for a type of skin cancer known as carcinoma on her shoulder and pre-melanoma on her face.
