Snoop Dogg praises LA community for coming together in wake of devastating fires rocking the region
In light of the destructive and fatal wildfires affecting parts of Greater Los Angeles, longtime Californian Snoop Dogg expressed admiration for the resilient spirit displayed by the local community.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, the proud grand-to-be publicly acknowledged and thanked his friends and local community for their generous assistance during these challenging times.
‘The crowd is uniting. They are focusing on what they can do to make an impact, rather than dwelling on their differences,’ he explained to the studio spectators.
53-year-old rapper shared that him and his loved ones are thriving, while he’s now focusing on aiding friends who have suffered immense losses.
He stated that, as usual, we arrived, offered our assistance, rallied our forces, stood for them, and provided all the resources they required.
California is famous for its wildfires, yet the fires currently sweeping through the Los Angeles district are being labeled as ‘extraordinary’ due to the powerful wind gusts reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour that are propelling the flames throughout the area.
As a devoted Californian, I’ve never encountered wildfires of such magnitude before. Yet, what truly matters is how California is rallying together amidst this crisis, and witnessing the world extend a helping hand to us. Hearing that applause, it’s clear we’re not alone in this battle.
As an ardent enthusiast, I’m thrilled to see unity unfolding before my eyes! Differences are being set aside, and the focus is solely on creating a significant impact instead.
The artist behind “Riders on the Storm” shared that he was approached by a helpful banker who wished to donate money to those who had lost their homes. Essentially, it’s about individuals from various backgrounds coming together, not only musicians or people in entertainment, but also everyday people, seeking ways to lend a hand.
The winner of the Billboard Music Awards shared that he was keeping tabs on the situation by tuning into television broadcasts about the disaster, while simultaneously expressing gratitude for those actively working on-site. He emphasized his role as a facilitator, ensuring essential resources reached the right individuals.
He shared that his team personally visited the affected individuals to guarantee a direct, face-to-face interaction, ensuring no one would be overlooked.
The musician performing at Let It Roll is also gathering funds through his store, Snoop Dogg’s Clothing, located in Inglewood, California.
Kimmel pointed out that, in addition to the studio, they were also accepting donations for his show in the parking lot of Hollywood.
The music maestro was additionally queried concerning creating a type of ‘We Are the World’ anthem, aiming to gather funds. The 1985 song, penned by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, and performed by numerous well-known vocalists, aimed at assisting famine victims in Ethiopia, eventually garnering over $60 million in humanitarian aid.
According to Snoop, there were discussions about holding concerts as a means to gather funds for those affected by this unfortunate event.
It seems I’d prefer to perform without payment, using ticket sales and any earnings to ensure everyone receives something instead.
‘On behalf of the magnificent city of Los Angeles, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our first responders. And to everyone assisting us during this unfortunate event, thank you.’
‘Stay strong LA,’ Kimmel said. ‘We’re in this together,’ Snoop added.
