Jessica Simpson and NFL alum Eric Johnson separate after 10 years of marriage
Jessica Simpson and husband Eric Johnson are separating after 10 years of marriage.
Eric and I have been living apart, dealing with a difficult time in our marriage,” the artist known for “I Wanna Love You Forever” stated on Tuesday to The Times.
In 2010, Simpson and the ex-NFL player got engaged following half a year of dating. They tied the knot in Santa Barbara in 2014 after they’d had their first two children together. Their family now consists of three kids: Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, who is 12 years old; Ace Knute, aged 11; and Birdie Mae, at 5 years old.
The fashion designer stated that their top priority is ensuring the well-being of their children and they are making decisions based on what’s best for them. They expressed gratitude for the kindness and backing they have received, but at this time, they would prefer to keep a low profile while dealing with personal matters as a family unit.
Music
In the recently published memoir titled “Open Book,” Jessica Simpson, a renowned singer and ex-reality television personality, shares intimate details about her experiences with sexual assault, substance abuse, and her romantic relationship with musician John Mayer.
It’s not certain if the singer is preparing to end their marriage through divorce, as of now. A spokesperson for the artist chose not to provide additional information on the matter. The initial report suggesting a separation emerged on Monday.
Both Simpson and Johnson had been married previously. Jessica Simpson, known for her hits “Irresistible” and “I Think I’m in Love With You”, was married to singer Nick Lachey from 2002 until 2006. As for Johnson, he tied the knot with teacher Keri D’Angelo from 2005 to 2010.
The separation emerged in November, as gossip about a divorce intensified, following instances where Simpson and Johnson were seen without their wedding bands. Additionally, Simpson hinted at a “return” in November, suggesting that she had resumed working in a recording studio in Nashville.
As a passionate cinephile, I’ve been waiting for this moment, a chance to make amends, a way to say ‘I’m sorry’ to myself for enduring what I never deserved. This is my comeback, my story, and it’s deeply personal.
Entertainment & Arts
As a passionate movie enthusiast dwelling in Los Angeles, I’m deeply saddened to see fellow Angelenos like Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Jeff Bridges, Mel Gibson, and Britney Spears among those impacted by the devastating historical wildfires tearing through our community.
Last week, Simpson was part of the countless Angelenos who had to leave their homes due to the massive wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles County.
She mentioned on Instagram Thursday that they remained there for as long as possible, posting a picture of her Hidden Hills residence with the Kenneth fire’s smoke visible in the background. Simpson purchased this 11,000-square-foot home, complete with six bedrooms and ten baths, from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne for $11.5 million in 2013.
Over the weekend, the Kenneth fire, which scorched approximately 1,000 acres in the Calabasas hillside, was completely brought under control. Earlier last week, a 33-year-old individual was taken into custody by LAPD officers after they observed him trying to ignite a fire in the same area.
