New Exalted skin confirmed: Mordekaiser is coming on patch 25.S1.5

In simple terms, the character Mordekaiser, typically found as the top laner, is set to get a special Exalted skin. This means we’ll see a complete makeover for this champion.

Previously, our developer hinted that Mordekaiser would soon get an Exalted skin, but didn’t specify a date. Now, thanks to League of Legends Leaks, we can confirm that this skin is expected to debut along with patch 25.S1.5 on March 5th.

What will the skin look like?

According to the leaks, Sahn-Uzal is likely the form that Mordekaiser will take. This could very well be true, as suggested in the developer’s update: “We plan to reveal Mordekaiser as the Exalted Season skin.

For now, let me give you a small clue. He will appear at the Rift in a manner that Runeterra hasn’t witnessed for an incredibly long time. So, what was Mordekaiser like before he gained this dark magic form?

What did Mordekaiser look like or behave like before he took on his current dark appearance in Runeterra?

Mordekaiser: Between blood and ashes

Mordekaiser had no limits to what he could achieve, yet his true identity wasn’t widely recognized. His authentic name, Sahn-Uzal, symbolized a ruthless warlord, fueled by a deep-seated religious darkness and an insatiable hunger for power.

Approaching his demise, he firmly believed his empire would grant him a seat at the divine banquet, the resplendent Hall of Bones, for all time. However, what Sahn-Uzal encountered was far from this expectation – he found himself in an abyss, surrounded by nothingness and emptiness. The feeling of betrayal filled him, but he refused to surrender so easily.

In an attempt to alter his course, Mordekaiser adopted a new language, one familiar to all known living humans – Ochnun. As his biography states, he began to murmur enticing offers beyond the realms’ boundary, promising his unyielding might to any who dared to hear him.

One fateful day, a group summoned Sahn-Uzal from the grave for battle purposes. Contrary to their plan, he instead turned against them, slaughtering every member of the coven and seizing all their magical wisdom and armaments. And so, in that very instant, Mordekaiser was reborn.

In his ambition to rule over the mortal world, Mordekaiser crafted a deadly weapon called the Nightfall. With this weapon, he built an impregnable fortress, the Immortal Bastion, at the heart of what would become known as the Noxus empire. However, the native tribes resisted his rule, and he was eventually banished from the material world. Yet, it seems that this was his plan all along – to delve into the dark magic concealed in the shadows.

He was destined for imperial rule, and even before he ascended, he envisioned a grander empire. His ambitions were unyielding and everlasting. The realm of Noxus emerged as an empire, and the name Mordekaiser continues to echo with dread and reverence among scholars delving into ancient lore. For them, his resurgence would be the most terrifying possibility in Runeterra. Should that event transpire, there seems to be no power capable of halting him.

New Mordekaiser Exalted skin release and price

In the upcoming League of Legends patch 25.S1.5 on March 5th, Mordekaiser’s new skin will be introduced, and it’s expected to follow the same pricing structure as Jinx and Sett’s skins. Each individual spark for this skin costs 400 RP, which means if you were to purchase the entire Exalted Skin, it could amount to up to 32,000 RP (approximately $250 USD).

In this class of skins, you’ll find that they operate using a gacha mechanism, implying that you’ll need to continuously spend sparks until you secure the skin. Each spark carries a 0.5% probability of granting an Exalted Skin. While it’s possible to snag an S-tier item early on, an Exalted item is guaranteed by the time you’ve used the 80th spark.
