Married At First Sight 2025: Viewers notice major editing fail in promo: ‘Did someone do a runner?’

2025 promises to bring unprecedented turmoil to the reality show “Married At First Sight,” as it appears that this year will be the most turbulent season the series has ever seen.

On Monday, Channel Nine revealed a preliminary glance at the 2025 cast, featuring some individuals who previously starred in reality shows and the oldest couple seen so far in the show’s history.

Although most characters made a strong impact on viewers, it wasn’t lost on some that Jake Luik and Tim Gromie, portraying the teacher roles, didn’t seem quite as flawless as their counterparts.

daily mail australia discloses that neither groom was present during the photo session for promotion, causing the team behind-the-scenes to hastily edit their pictures using Photoshop.

The images used were producers’ personal snaps taken on both of their wedding days.

Reports indicate that Jake (age 30) and Tim (age 38) outright declined to take part in a promotional event, which has reportedly caused problems for the show’s advertising department.

It was revealed by a source that Jake had to stay home due to an ear infection, as directed by his doctor and missed the appointment.

‘It’s a shame because his storyline was shaping up to be a fan favourite’

After finishing filming, it appears that Tim, based in Melbourne, no longer wished to be involved with the show.

As a connoisseur of lifestyle trends, I must confess that I was profoundly disappointed when the so-called experts failed to deliver as expected. My discontentment didn’t remain hidden; instead, I openly expressed my concerns and dissatisfaction. Eventually, I reached a point where I found myself distancing myself from the show entirely.

Online, photos of Jake and Tim in the official cast lineup have ignited a flurry of speculation, as many fans point out what appears to be an obvious manipulation using photo editing software.

One user commented, “They really manipulated Jake’s image badly in this photo… Using Photoshop with the 2003 version of Microsoft Paint.

A supporter playfully speculated, “Could it be that Tim and Jake intentionally lack official photos? Or perhaps someone hastily fled the scene for a photo shoot?

Previous instances of calamity have affected the production before, as past seasons were marked by errors in Photoshop editing.

Recently, groom Simon Flocco garnered attention when he dramatically withdrew from the event only a few days prior to his wedding ceremony last year.

Channel Nine had no choice but to add a digital version of Simon to the cast photo, utilizing an older outfit picture he had previously provided.

The unusual editing work sparked a chorus of disapproval among fans, who labeled it as the most conspicuous example of a Photoshop blunder to date.

One industry insider chuckled, commenting that ‘producers may still be reeling from the events of the Simon fiasco last year, and now they’re facing another challenge.’

‘At this point, it’s a rite of passage for MAFS to have someone missing from a major promo shoot.’

Married At First Sight returns to screens January 27 at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
