Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor ‘SPLITS from boyfriend Charlie De Melo after two years of dating’

Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor has reportedly split from her boyfriend Charlie De Melo.

In 2020, the actress (who was 44 at the time) encountered Charlie (aged 35) on the set of an ITV soap opera. Their romance blossomed towards the end of 2022; however, as reported by The Sun, they are no longer a couple.

The publication claimed they both decided to part ways several months ago but remain good friends.

According to a source, Georgia and Charlie have ended their romantic relationship, but they continue to cherish a strong friendship marked by mutual concern.

They currently share many joyful moments, yet their attention is deeply engrossed in their respective careers for now. They eagerly anticipate what lies ahead with positivity, and there’s no resentment between them.

As reported by The Mirror, it appears that the couple chose to celebrate Christmas apart last year. Georgia is said to have enjoyed the festivities in the company of her friends and fellow cast members instead.

Georgia and Charlie have been contacted by TopMob for comment.

In the month of July 2023, it was made clear by Charlie that he was romantically involved with Georgia. This fact was revealed through a set of pictures he posted, which were taken during a Blur performance they both attended at London’s Wembley Arena.

In a twist that mirrored their real-life relationship, this on-screen duo portrayed a married couple in the ITV soap opera, until the character of Imran Habeeb, played by Charlie, was written out in 2022.

Previously, for 14 years, Georgia was in a relationship with the actor Mark Letheren, aged 53. However, in 2022, they chose to part ways and go their individual paths.

In the year 2008, the ex-lovers first crossed paths on the set of “Casualty.” Prior to this, Charlie had been romantically involved with his previous acting partner, Nicola Thorp.

Lovers of the ITV soap might be unaware that during her career’s start, Georgia decided to use a stage name instead of her real one, Claire Jackson, when she first appeared on the soap.

In an interview, I shared: “Unintentionally, I found myself in a unique situation when joining ‘Coronation Street’. As I needed to register with Equity, the actors’ union, I discovered there were numerous Clarises already registered. So, I had to think of an alternative name for myself.

She confessed: “I can’t exactly say where I found Georgia, other than I was drawn to it, but my grandfather’s last name was Taylor. He unfortunately passed away just prior to me landing that role.

During my teenage years, I impulsively chose an unconventional name without fully considering the potential long-term complications. Over time, this decision has led to a fair share of misunderstandings and confusion. Nowadays, I’m flexible about how people address me, so feel free to call me by almost anything!

2001 saw Georgia bagging the Best Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Award for her portrayal of Toyah Battersby.

In 2003, she made her first departure from Coronation Street, and since then, she has been a main cast member on BBC One’s Casualty, portraying the character Ruth Winters starting in September 2007.

After coming back to the cobblestones, Georgia’s character started a romantic storyline with solicitor Imran Habeeb. Earlier, she and her sister Leanne Battersby (played by Jane Danson) had both pursued his affection.

Four years later, Georgia resumed her role on television, portraying Junior Crown Prosecutor Kate Barker in Law & Order: UK for a span of two seasons (2013-2014). Subsequently, she made a permanent comeback to Coronation Street in 2016.
