Glen Close reveals which co-star delivered her best on-screen kiss

Throughout her illustrious 50-year acting career, Glenn Close has shared passionate love scenes with several renowned actors. However, among all these encounters, who was the most skilled at kissing?

On a recent episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” the actress, who’s now 77 years old, shared some details modestly about a certain topic during her interview on Thursday evening.

On January 17, the latest movie of the seasoned actor titled “Back in Action” featuring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx premieres on Netflix. However, during a recent chat with host Andy Cohen, there was interest from both him and fans about revisiting her old experiences instead.

In the course of a round of Plead the Fifth, Cohen enquired from Close about her most memorable on-screen kiss, to which she responded, “Robert Redford in The Natural.

In the legendary 1984 film, Redford, aged 88, played the role of an unexpected hero who led his team to triumph in a dramatic storyline.

Close played his long lost lady love.

‘I only got to kiss him once … No, maybe we did two takes,’ she recalled.

‘But I also threw him out of my apartment in that movie. But I ended up with him.’

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m always thrilled when fans engage me with thoughtful questions, and recently, one did just that regarding a decades-old enigma linked to The Big Chill. To put it in simpler terms, they wanted to know more about the intriguing behind-the-scenes story surrounding this iconic movie.

1985 saw the release of a drama-comedy titled “Close” where Susan worked alongside Kevin Kline, Mary Kay Place, JoBeth Williams, William Hurt, Tom Berenger, Jeff Goldblum and Meg Tilly. These talented actors portrayed a close-knit group of college friends who reunited for the funeral of one of their own companions.

Kevin Costner was supposed to be in the film as well, but his scenes were cut.

‘It was Kevin Costner as the body that was being prepared,’ she told the audience.

Indeed, it was Kevin who appeared in the movie as expected. You might have noticed him towards the end, in the concluding scenes that were originally part of the film, but unfortunately, those scenes were eliminated.

Nevertheless, director Lawrence Kasdan was reportedly remorseful over cutting the future Academy Award winner from the movie, so he provided him with another chance to shine by offering him a role of prominence instead.

In his explanation, Taylor Hackford shared that Larry Kasdan, who was both the director and co-writer of ‘The Big Chill’, showed great kindness towards someone (possibly referring to Kevin Kline), as Larry is known for being a kind person. This led him to make this individual a prominent figure in the movie ‘Silverado’.

‘He put him in Silverado, and it made Kevin a star.’

The actress who received eight Academy Award nominations, one of them being for her gripping portrayal of a dangerous character in the film “Fatal Attraction” (1987), was queried about the performance that she believed should have earned an Oscar.

‘All of them,’ she answered confidently.
