Bridget Jones trilogy is leaving Netflix next week
Before the forthcoming launch of “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy“, enthusiasts and novices of the series have just a few remaining days to catch up on the initial three episodes.
The trilogy, consisting of “Bridget Jones’s Diary” (2001), “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” (2004), and “Bridget Jones’s Baby” (2016), narrates the tale of Bridget Jones (played by Renée Zellweger) and her multiple attempts at love, involving Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant).
As a fan, I can’t wait for the upcoming release of the fourth Bridget Jones movie! But if you haven’t seen the first three yet or just want to revisit her chaotic life, act fast because they’re all currently on Netflix. However, mark your calendars as they are scheduled to be taken down from the service by January 15. So, let’s enjoy these films while we can!
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the next installment in this epic series. Although it’s still available for a short while longer, the latest trailer for the fourth movie dropped a major bombshell – it turns out that Firth’s character met his end four years ago!
Zellweger expressed to Empire that it’s strange because of the strong bond she has formed with this character, whom she adores thanks to Colin’s portrayal. “I care for him deeply,” she said about the character. “Whenever we reunite on screen, I cherish it. And when he was taken away from my virtual life, I was genuinely sad.
Since 2000, I’ve developed a close bond with him. Sharing this journey without Colin would be difficult, and I must admit, it brought tears to my eyes. It’s as if a piece of the adventure has vanished, much like how life can sometimes rob us of its magic.
Zellweger, who received an Academy Award nomination for her role in the initial movie, further shared her deep affection for the character of Bridget, expressing that she felt a strong sense of guardianship towards her.
She expressed that she adores this character. Revisiting her in a new phase of life, witnessing her development, offers a rare, enriching experience. There’s a sense of affection and care for her that runs deep. Moreover, she takes great interest in ensuring the project is top-notch as she cares deeply for the character.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will be released in cinemas on February 14.
