Alicia Douvall, once a glamour model, has undergone over 400 cosmetic surgeries, amounting to an estimated £1 million, resulting in a remarkable transformation over the past few years.

During the first years of the 2000s, Alicia was often associated with tabloid headlines and lively gatherings. She gained notoriety for her rotation of famous partners and her seemingly endless series of cosmetic procedures.

However, after 18 breast surgeries, 11 nose modifications, butt implants, and her ribs being sculpted, Alicia decided to step away from cosmetic surgery. Instead, over the past decade, she has established a thriving skincare company that emphasizes natural anti-aging – ironically enough.

For Alicia, at 45 and a mother of two, it represents a significant shift from her past aspirations, which were centered around becoming the woman with the largest breasts in Britain.

When she was younger, she admired Cindy Jackson, often referred to as the “real-life Barbie” and recognized by Guinness World Records for her extensive plastic surgeries, greatly inspiring her.

Sarah Howes, who later adopted a stage name better fitting for glamour modeling, hailed from a family background. Her father was an accomplished self-made millionaire and a council member of the Conservative party. She received her education at the esteemed Springfield Park School, located in Horsham, West Sussex.

However, Alicia acknowledges that being sent to a boarding school at age nine marked the beginning of her struggles with self-esteem and an excessive preoccupation with her appearance.

Instead of saving her parent’s remittance for beauty items like tanning tablets and hair dye, she accumulates those funds and spends them on such cosmetic goods.

In one particularly daring act during her youth, she went as far as having a tanning bed delivered to the school when she was only eleven years old.

At seventeen years old, following her expulsion, she underwent her initial breast augmentation, as she chose to venture into glamour modeling since her height made her unsuitable for runway work.

By the late ’90s, she had become a regular model for tabloids, posing for various magazines and hosting shows on Playboy TV. Her weekly earnings were approximately £5000.

In addition, she increased both her financial standing and popularity after appearing on Love Island in 2006, earning a six-figure income, even though she only stayed in the villa for a single week.

Her frequent romantic encounters and subsequent gossip-worthy stories involving celebrities such as Simon Cowell, Mick Hucknall, P Diddy, Mickey Rourke, and Dean Gaffney often led to regular headlines in newspapers.

However, Alicia found herself deeply engrossed in a compulsion for cosmetic surgeries, undergoing a procedure nearly every week.

Or:

Alicia’s fame had her hooked on cosmetic surgeries, with one operation following another almost weekly.

Both maintain the original meaning while using more natural and easy-to-read language.

In 2013, she shared with The Mail On Sunday that aside from her daughter’s schooling, she didn’t spend money on anything else except surgeries. Her meals consisted mostly of beans on toast, and she never took a vacation. To make ends meet, she even managed to convince her boyfriends to cover the costs of those operations.

Despite my daughter’s pleas for me to halt the surgeries, I persisted. I believed that the next procedure would resolve all issues, so I chose to disregard her requests.

This version retains the original meaning while making it more natural and easier to read by using “pleas” instead of “begged,” “halt” instead of “stop,” “persisted” instead of “carried on,” “disregard” instead of “didn’t listen,” and adding a clarifying phrase for the reader that explains why the individual chose to continue with the surgery.

2011 marked the birth of Alicia’s second child, Papaya. As a mother to Georgia, aged 29 at that time, Alicia made a promise never to have plastic surgery again. However, it proved challenging for her to overcome her compulsion.

She received a diagnosis for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), sometimes referred to as dysmorphia. This is a mental health condition that often co-occurs with anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). People affected by it tend to have excessive preoccupations with their physical appearance, and they may perceive aspects of their looks to be significantly flawed or distorted.

At that point, Alicia openly acknowledged: “I was taking antidepressants due to the deep regret I felt over my actions towards myself. My psychotherapist was the one who proposed the possibility that I might be suffering from body dysmorphia.

‘I was admitted to a rehabilitation center, and my treatment was no different than that of any other person struggling with addiction. I underwent extensive therapy sessions, and through this process, I’ve had to start anew in building myself back up.’

Whilst she tackled her addiction, the physical effects of her multiple surgeries followed her.

2015 saw a popular TV figure disclose that her silicone buttocks implants had ruptured within her body. She explained that harmful silicone fluid was seeping into her bloodstream as a result.

Later on in 2021, Alicia openly admitted that due to numerous unsuccessful surgical procedures, she found herself trapped in a recurring situation where she needed Botox treatments every half year just to maintain the appearance of a lifted face.

In addition, she disclosed that she encountered a health crisis in June 2020, where her left breast swelled due to the Allergan implants she had, which are known for being associated with instances of cancer.

Alicia, noticing one of her breasts was inflamed and twice the size of the other, suspected she had heatstroke but felt immobilized. Realizing her predicament, she believed she was dying and began bidding farewell to her loved ones.

It was discovered through further examination that she had contracted sepsis, a severe response to an infection, and an MRI scan revealed a growth as well as a swollen lymph node. This complication was attributed to the Allergan implant, which had a textured surface causing the issue.

Alicia remarked, ‘That moment served as a stark reminder of the foolish errors I’ve committed in the past. It’s amazing I’ve managed to survive this long.’

Following two decades of being recognized for her augmentations, she has rebranded herself as an advocate promoting natural aging.

In 2011, they started their beauty brand, Douvall’s, following their discovery of the amazing effects of cold-pressed argan oil on their skin, with the help of her daughter.

Initially causing a stir due to her comments about her oldest daughter potentially getting plastic surgery, Alicia then teamed up with Georgia to start their venture. She put all her £20,000 in savings into the new business.

Additionally, the brand has gained significant recognition, being carried by retailers such as Sephora, Superdrug in the United Kingdom, and Walmart in the United States.

Additionally, the firm takes great care to contribute significantly by funding breast cancer studies, promoting awareness, and collaborating with the Women’s Cooperative in Morocco, who are responsible for producing the argan oil used in their product line.

With the thriving success of her business, Alicia has definitively distanced herself from the cosmetic surgeries that brought her fame. She admitted: “When we launched the company, I simply halted those procedures. I attempted to have them reversed, but doing so could have caused more harm than benefit.

‘Last year, she shared with The Sun her belief that investing in natural skincare, a balanced diet, and an active lifestyle are the most valuable investments one can make for their health.’

Rather than focusing on who has the most attractive nose or facial features, it’s more important to feel comfortable and confident with your own physical self and overall being.
