The Kool Superteam – Vitality complete Ropz signing

Vitality has announced the much-awaited signing of ropz.

In a major development, team Vitality has recruited Robin “ropz” Kool to round out their CS:2 roster. The skilled Estonian rifleman is joining the hive following a productive period with FaZe Clan. During his time there, FaZe Clan amassed 9 trophies, including victories at Katowice and a Major event, as well as achieving the Intel Grand Slam in its fourth season. Now, ropz aims to replicate that level of achievement with Vitality.

As a diehard fan, I can’t hide my excitement as ropz’s arrival marks the replacement of one legendary FPL star, Spinx, with another, ropz himself. Rumors swirled throughout 2024 about tension within Vitality, with coach XTQZZZ confirming Spinx’s desire to pursue other opportunities. By the time Shanghai came around, it was clear that this would be Vitality’s final event together. The team is moving forward, and I can’t wait to see what ropz brings to the table!

Given the comparable state of FaZe’s lineup, ropz joining Vitality was essentially a straightforward decision. Like Spinx, ropz is known for his passive lurking style, combined with exceptional playmaking skills. However, in high-pressure arena matches, ropz tends to struggle. Conversely, he thrives in these situations, as demonstrated by his impressive performance during crucial matches. Throughout his tenure with FaZe, the young talent has emerged as a powerful secondary leader within the team, capable of guiding them out of challenging situations. Notably, in Shanghai, ropz delivered a playoff run that rivaled many Major MVP performances.

Energy is confident that ropz’s seasoned skills can greatly benefit the team during Arena battles, and offer Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut a reliable duo partner. With Shahar “flameZ” Shushan completing this stellar threesome, Energy will maintain its dominance with an unparalleled roster of top-tier players in CS2.

The end of one of modern CS’ most influential partnerships

Under the guidance of Finn “karrigan” Andersen at MOUZ since 2019, the partnership between him and ropz has been a defining force in contemporary CS. Together, they built a formidable team that saw ropz transform into a fearsome fragger, contributing significantly to MOUZ’s impressive streak of reaching five finals and winning four trophies. Unfortunately, this successful run was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with karrigan moving on to FaZe Clan in early 2021. Consequently, their fruitful partnership has now come to an end.

Following this, ropz joined him in FaZe, rounding out what would later prove to be one of the most formidable teams in CS:GO history. In 2022, they reigned supreme, amassing a multitude of honors and trophies. However, the team’s performance in 2023 was relatively less impressive compared to the Vitality-G2 superteams that took center stage. Nevertheless, ropz stood out throughout the year, particularly with the launch of CS2, where he spent countless hours on the server, paving the way for FaZe’s series of finals during the early stages of CS2.

As a devoted fan, I’ve witnessed how Tomáš “oskar” Šťastný and Miikka “suNny” Kemppi were the standout players during MOUZ’s rookie years of ropz back in 2017-18. However, it’s been ropz who has powered his teams’ victories since then. Now, with his move to Vitality, I can’t help but wonder if the Estonian can excel as a secondary star, providing support for ZywOo’s exceptional sharpshooting skills. Will Vitality be able to mold these stellar talents into a team that could define an era? The anticipation is palpable!
