Tom Hanks could be driven out of Pacific Palisades neighbourhood by ‘survivors guilt’ after $26 million mansion avoided ravaging LA wildfires
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are contemplating moving away from their neighborhood, which was severely affected by a fire, permanently, even though their 26 million dollar house managed to survive the tragic destruction.
The Pacific Palisades mansion of the famous Hollywood couple barely escaped the destructive path of the Los Angeles wildfire, causing immense damage to the cherished celebrity neighborhood and nearby regions.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel incredibly fortunate, yet Tom and Rita, two amazing individuals at 68 years old, find themselves grappling with an overwhelming sense of survivor’s guilt. They’re unsure whether they wish to continue residing in the same neighborhood that has brought them immense joy as well as profound sorrow.
According to an exclusive report by DailyMail.com, Tom Hanks is grappling with survivor’s guilt since his house remains undamaged amidst the current situation.
He understands that he hasn’t yet emerged from danger, and he deeply regrets that his property remains intact while many of his neighbors and friends have suffered total loss.
‘They don’t know how they will wrap their heads around this.’
The couple’s sprawling 4,513 square-foot residence stood at a comfortable distance from the house of their closest neighbor, which had been tragically consumed by flames.
In the images I examined from DailyMail.com, there was no sign of any debris on Tom’s rooftop or expansive backyard patio that I could see.
In 2010, the four-bedroom, five-bathroom house was bought by the Academy Award-winning couple (twice over), but it remains uncertain whether they will decide to reside there permanently.
The source added, ‘They’re grateful that their house remains intact, though they haven’t made up their mind about their next steps.’
From my perspective as a lifestyle expert, it feels quite unusual to linger when everything is quiet and there’s no one around in a space that’s usually bustling. However, the choices we make about our future there won’t be immediate; they’ll unfold over the coming weeks and months.
It is unclear if the couple’s Malibu home is unscathed.
By Friday, over 180,000 LA residents found themselves displaced from their homes due to five separate wildfires that ignited in different parts of Southern California just a few days ago.
In simple terms, the worst fire ever recorded in the county burned down over 10,000 buildings and left approximately 400,000 electricity users across the state without power.
