Dean Cain says late Alex Pretti ‘certainly wasn’t just being a peaceful protester’ leading to fatal ICE shooting

Dean Cain believes that leading Minnesota Democrats, rather than Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), are mostly responsible for the shooting death of Alex Pretti at a Minneapolis protest on Saturday. Cain stated that Pretti was likely not simply a peaceful demonstrator.

On Monday, the 59-year-old actor discussed the recent shooting of Prettii, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, with TMZ Live. Prettii was shot by a U.S. Border Patrol officer while participating in a protest, and the incident happened two days prior to the interview.

When asked about whether the officers used the right amount of force, Cain stated that an investigation would definitely determine that later.

I’m not fully aware of everything that happened before this, but I know law enforcement, particularly ICE and Border Patrol, have been facing significant pressure and criticism lately.

They’re facing a lot of harsh criticism, and I strongly suspect it’s coming from a well-organized and surprisingly advanced group. I believe further investigation will reveal the full extent of their efforts.

Dean Cain, known for playing Superman in the TV series Lois & Clark from 1993 to 1997, believes people don’t fully grasp how quickly things can escalate for police officers in these situations.

It’s difficult to fully grasp the situation unless you witness it firsthand, explained the actor from Mount Clemens, Michigan. He clarified that intentionally hindering or blocking ICE agents while they’re performing their duties is a felony offense.

Oh my god, did you hear what he said? He totally thinks they were out to get her, like a full-on conspiracy to ruin her life! He basically said the authorities were just trying to destroy her, and it’s so clear he’s on her side! It’s amazing, honestly. He gets it.

Cain stated that Pretti was definitely not a peaceful protester and that confronting federal law enforcement while carrying a weapon was a poor decision.

Standing between police and the woman is a problem on its own, and being armed while doing so is a very dangerous decision.

Oh my god, you won’t BELIEVE this! Dean Cain – yes, the Dean Cain from Las Vegas and even Beverly Hills, 90210 – he’s actually questioning what Pretti did right before everything went down. Like, he’s seriously digging into her actions, trying to figure out what she was doing. It’s just…wow. He’s so smart and observant, and I’m completely hanging on his every word about this whole thing.

Cain questioned how often the individual had interacted with police before the incident, and why he was even on the street. He emphasized that many important questions still needed to be addressed.

It’s possible he was targeted simply for being near ICE vehicles – I can’t say for sure, but that kind of thing happens a lot.

Okay, so I’ve been following everything so closely, and honestly, I think Sonny Cain is totally right. Governor Walz and Mayor Frey are just making things worse! It’s like they’re deliberately stirring up trouble with all their talk, especially after what happened to Renee Nicole Good earlier this month. It’s just… frustrating to watch, and I think they need to calm down and let things cool off instead of adding fuel to the fire.

Ultimately, the responsibility for this situation lies with Governor Walz, Mayor Frey, and other state and city officials who are refusing to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and have been making highly inflammatory comparisons, calling them names like ‘Gestapo’ and ‘Nazis’.

Honestly, it’s his words, the way he talks, that are really fueling everything! People are taking him seriously, they’re actually listening and thinking he wants them to confront others, to take things to the streets… and that’s where all this trouble starts, it really is. It’s not some separate issue, it’s directly because of what he’s saying, I just know it!

As a longtime follower of events here, it was really frustrating to watch the disagreement unfold in Minneapolis on Sunday. It seemed like federal and state officials were just pointing fingers at each other, each insisting the other was to blame for what happened. It was a total standoff!

According to Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino, Pretti put himself in a dangerous situation due to his actions during the incident.

According to reports, Bovino stated that anyone who intentionally enters an active law enforcement situation and interferes with officers—especially if they are armed—is making a deliberate decision with potential consequences.

During a press conference, Walz posed a stark question: ‘Do you want to support a federal government with unchecked power that could harm its own people, or do you stand with a VA nurse who tragically died after witnessing such abuse of power?’

Governor Walz joined several prominent Democrats in commenting on the situation, including his previous running mate, former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris praised Pretti on social media, describing him as someone who was devoted to serving both his local community and the nation.

As many videos have shown, Harris’s last act before federal agents killed him was to bravely protect the people in his community.

Alex, along with many other people in Minnesota, courageously stood up for their community when the federal government took forceful control of a city.

The 2024 Democratic presidential candidate concluded her remarks by expressing her anger and sadness for Alex, his family, the city of Minneapolis, and the nation.

Senator Bernie Sanders, who previously ran for president, is asking for all federal agents, including those from ICE and the Border Patrol, to be immediately removed from Minneapolis and other cities.

As a New Yorker, I was deeply moved by Mayor Mamdani’s recent statement. He really put it plainly: ICE creates fear and puts everyone in our communities at risk. I wholeheartedly agree with his call to abolish ICE – it’s a necessary step towards true safety and justice for all of us.
