Ricki Lake reveals she lost her 'dream home' in devastating Los Angeles fire: 'It's all gone'

On Wednesday, Ricki Lake posted a touching message to disclose that her and her husband, Ross Burningham, had tragically lost their cherished dream house in the destructive Pacific Palisades fire.

56-year-old actress from Hairspray shared on her primary Instagram account that she feels the loss from the LA wildfire is indescribable, using the term “apocalyptic” to describe the devastating event.

Accompanying a collection of 20 pictures she took at her house, Lake poignantly wrote to her audience, “Everything is lost.

It’s hard for me to accept that I’m writing this message. Despite the courageous and heroic struggle put up by our friend Kirby Kotler, we unfortunately couldn’t keep our cherished dream house.

Celebrity couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, along with other famous personalities, experienced the loss of their homes, while notable figures like Ben Affleck, James Woods, and Eugene Levy were ordered to evacuate due to certain circumstances.

The fire that started on Tuesday morning in Pacific Palisades is presently consuming approximately 5,000 acres and has destroyed multiple homes and structures situated within the fire’s trajectory, as reported by The Los Angeles Times.

Over the past two days, the Eaton Fire, ignited on Tuesday evening in the vicinity of Pasadena, has scorched approximately 10,000 acres, whereas the Hurst Fire, located close to Sylmar, has consumed roughly 505 acres.

Ricki commented, “The term ‘dream home’ falls short. It was more like our paradise on earth – the spot where we intended to spend our golden years together.

We always appreciated our divine vantage point over Malibu from the cliff, not for a single moment. Nearly every day, I’d share the breathtaking sunsets with each of you online.

She penned, “This loss can’t be quantified,” further elaborating that the house was the place where they exchanged their wedding vows three years prior.

I share their sorrow as everyone goes through this catastrophic occurrence. Sending my prayers to my fellow townspeople, friends, local community, the wildlife, and the brave firefighters and emergency personnel who are working tirelessly to help us all.

Lake posted that, along with Ross, they had fled with their pooch Dolly, but not many other details. Later on, the actress expressed that she would reveal more, but for now, she is mourning.

The star uploaded a series of photos that had captured special memories of her home over the years.

In a single snapshot, Ricki can be noticed, radiating joy with a wide grin, while she playfully raises both arms, striking a pose amidst her vibrant flower garden, which offers glimpses of the distant Pacific Ocean.

Amber Rose wrote, “I’m deeply sorry, Ricki,” and Holly Robinson Peete expressed, “Oh noooo, Ricki! That was your safe haven.

‘I have no words, dear… I am deeply grieved by your pain and Ross’s loss. So much love, laughter, and joy were shared within that space. In my heart, I hold you as it aches for you.’

Just a month ago, in December, Ricki’s house faced the danger posed by the Malibu wildfires, which were triggered by powerful winds.

During that period, the actress was spotted passing through a police roadblock with her pet in her lap, as her residential area was under a compulsory evacuation notice. Similarly, other famous personalities like Cher were similarly required to leave their homes due to the same circumstances.

Starting on Tuesday, numerous famous people had to evacuate their luxurious mansions along the coast of Los Angeles due to three fierce wildfires that are potentially destructive enough to level the entire city.

Over 30,000 people had to leave their houses due to a huge wildfire that swept through the upscale neighborhood of Pacific Palisades, charring almost 3,000 acres and turning many homes into ruins.

The reality TV personalities, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, have unfortunately had to evacuate their high-end neighborhood residence because of the destructive wildfire.

James Woods, an actor who has been nominated for an Oscar, evacuated his family from the Palisades after a rapid-spreading wildfire approached and ignited a nearby home just two blocks away from his property, causing him to flee as well.

He is unclear on the condition of his own property after the evacuation.

Additionally, Woods stated that he, along with several other nearby residents, are now uninsured following a ‘significant insurer’ reportedly terminating numerous policies around four months back.

Actor Mark Hamill, known for Star Wars, unexpectedly had to leave his Malibu residence due to an emergency evacuation order that came through late on Tuesday evening.

As he neared the Pacific Coast Highway, he noted that small fires were burning on either side of the road. He described the flames as one of the most devastating fires experienced since 1993.

In a swift response, Police Academy actor Steve Guttenberg took action when a fire broke out in the Palisades neighborhood. Rather than standing idle, he chose to aid firefighters by shifting vehicles aside, thus creating space for the approaching fire engines.

Eugene Levy, affectionately known as the honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades, admitted that he got stuck in the traffic jam caused by residents leaving the area.

However, even those who have managed to reach safety are now fervently hoping for a miraculous outcome, such as Formula One heiress Petra Ecclestone and her spouse Sam Palmer, along with their family, who also had to flee.

According to TMZ, Ben Affleck hastily made his way to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s residence following an evacuation due to the destructive California wildfires.

Affleck resides nearby his former spouse, who is the mother of his three kids. In a hurry, he went to their residence to gather the family, and they’ve all moved to safety since then, according to DailyMail.com’s reports.

Another flare-up, known as the Eaton Fire, ignited approximately 30 miles inward in Altadena, close to Pasadena, and expanded dramatically from 200 acres to 1,000 acres within just a few hours, as reported by Cal Fire.

Mandy Moore, along with her three kids, have left their house in Pasadena due to the rapidly advancing fire moving towards the west. As a star on This Is Us, she assures everyone that herself, her family, and their pets are all safe.

Another fire, known as the Hurst Fire, ignited in Sylmar, located within the San Fernando Valley northwest of Los Angeles. This incident led to the evacuation of certain nearby residents due to its outbreak.

Fierce wildfires are sweeping through areas where many famous celebrities reside, such as Jhene Aiko, Tom Hanks, Miles Teller, and the Kardashians, along with numerous others.

Firefighters persistently fight off the fierce wildfires spreading across Los Angeles’ outskirts. These fires have consumed structures, incited frantic evacuations due to the hurricane-like winds that accelerate the flames’ expansion.

Terrified residents left their vehicles along a crucial road leading to the affluent Pacific Palisades district, choosing instead to escape on foot, avoiding the raging fire.
