2025 is bringing another Harlan Coben series, this time teaming up with his long-term TV partner Danny Brocklehurst, who has worked on shows like “Brassic” and BBC’s “Ten Pound Poms” as well.
This duo has collaborated in the past on popular Netflix series such as “The Stranger”, “Safe”, “Stay Close” and more recently, the incredibly successful “Fool Me Once”.
Instead of adapting a book by Harlan Coben, they have created an original story tailored exclusively for TV broadcast. This new series will debut on streaming platforms, more precisely on Amazon Prime Video.
Lazarus is set to delve deeper into a chilling ghost tale, as hinted by its author. The narrative revolves around a forensic psychologist dealing with peculiar and inexplicable occurrences following the demise of his father.
Absolutely, unexpected surprises are part of the plot. Not only was his sister brutally killed, but there will be additional unsolved cases added for complexity. Indeed, it’s starting to resemble a typical Harlan Coben story.
Who is in the cast of Harlan Coben’s Lazarus?
Richard Armitage is not present anywhere. Known for his recurring roles in Steven Coben’s screen world, he has starred in as many as four adaptations, including the latest Netflix series, “Missing You,” released earlier this month.
In the upcoming addition to the Cobenverse, Lazarus will present a fresh lineup of actors, with Sam Claflin from “Peaky Blinders” and “Daisy Jones & The Six” stepping into the central role as Laz – a complex character who happens to be a psychologist dealing with his own struggles.

Fresh from sharing the screen with James Norton in “Joy,” this Hollywood heavyweight charmed audiences both on the big screen and later on Netflix.
Alexandra Roach, recognized for her role in Channel 4’s “The Light in the Hall” and more recently paired with Joe Cole in BBC’s “Nightshifter,” will also be featured prominently in the upcoming production titled “Lazarus.
Confirmed participants, along with others, are Kate Ashfield from “A Confession”, Roisin Gallagher known for “The Dry” on ITV that was recently renewed, David Fynn from “The Pembrokeshire Murders”, and Karla Crome who will appear in the upcoming Netflix drama titled “Toxic Town”.

From the set photos we’ve seen, it looks like Sam Claflin is in action! The filming for this project has been happening right here in Manchester.

In a recent chat with Radio Times, Harlan Coben confirmed that production on the series Lazarus has wrapped up. It’s been speculated that the show might air sometime in 2025, though an exact timeframe or release date has not been made official yet.
What other Harlan Coben shows are on the way?
From another of his publications, Harlan Coben’s book titled “Caught” (Spanish: “Atrapados“) is expected to hit the shelves sometime this year as well.
The movie was shot in Buenos Aires and Bariloche, and it revolves around a journalist who manages to apprehend fugitive criminals who have eluded the law.
Netflix, the streaming service leader, has given approval for another adaptation of Harlan Coben’s work, this time focusing on his 2019 novel “Run Away”. The storyline suggests that the series will chronicle a man frantically searching for his lost daughter.
For now, we don’t have any actor announcements regarding this particular project. However, we can confirm that Danny Brocklehurst will be back on the writing team. Additionally, Quay Street Productions, who have previously worked with us on shows like “Missing You” and “Fool Me Once”, are also involved in this upcoming project again.
